Daisy, an orangutan resident of Germany's Dresden Zoo, gave birth last week to her second offspring. The baby, a male, has been given the name Dodi -- and it's plain to see that Daisy is a devoted mother to the little fellow (who, according to the German news source Bild, weighs only 1.5 pounds).
Such devotion to their offspring is typical of orangutan mothers; in the wild, young orangutans typically live with their mothers until they're 6 or 7 years old. (Daisy's older offspring, a female named Djasinga, is 6 years old and moved to the Berlin Zoo last year.)
More photos of Daisy and Dodi after the jump!
