Having babies can be exhausting work - as any new mother will tell you.
But as these amazing pictures show, there is also not let up in the animal world for new mums.

The demands of motherhood appear to be all too much for Lou Sheng to cope with.
But you could hardly blame her for taking a quick 40 winks, as the exhausted giant panda has just given birth to twins.
One of her beautiful offspring is pictured taking a nap on her belly, no doubt after gulping down a large helping of healthy mother's milk.
These wonderful pictures were taken at the at the Shaanxi Rare Wildlife Breeding and Research Centre in Zhouzhi County, in north-west China.
Lou Sheng gave birth to a pair of twin cubs on August 18 and both are growing well, according to her keepers.

Lou Sheng was given some good stuff from male pandas Sansan and Xiaoming at the Shaanxi Rare Wild Animals Rescue and Breeding Research Centre - and she gave birth to a baby boy and a girl.
The new additions are gratefully accepted as the panda is one of the world's most famous emblems of endangered species everywhere.
