^^I can't. I live right on the corner next to a four lane road with alot of traffic going 35-45 MPH..No way could I have a dog. I would be too afraid it would get killed on the road..I have seen it happen in this neighborhood several times and I just cannot deal with that.

Those are too cute!!! Speaking from experience, don't get a beagle if don't have a fenced yard and even then it doesn't always help. My Gracie has been a runner since the day we brought her home. They really can't help it, they're instincts kick in and the brain drops out and they're off. Living where you say, you'd be asking for trouble with most dogs but a beagle especially. Glad to hear you've thought it through for the dogs' sake.
