And of course if EVERYONE stopped breeding, we'd
eventually become extinct barring any major evolutionary changes like asexual reproduction. Now, of course it is not going to happen that everyone decides to stop breeding, and I am not worried about extinction. I'm just wondering what these people do expect to accomplish. It seems pretty futile for just a few people to decide not to breed for the sake of the planet. Do they have any thoughts on how many people should be having children, and on who those people should be? I'm trying to figure out the mindset.
I think they didn't want children anyway. The one woman said she has no maternal instinct. The "save the planet" thing is just some kind of justification where none is necessary. You have to present
some excuse for not having children that won't be seen as selfish, even if it is seen as "barking mad".
As for myself, I think not feeling maternal is a plenty good enough reason.
