Is it possible to NOT know your child is missing?
While no parent is perfect, do you think you could misplace your child?
A 2-year-old was left at a Texas Chuck E. Cheese last weekend. Her father didn't realize she was missing until he saw her picture in the news two days later.
The incident is said to have been a misunderstanding since an aunt took the little girl to a birthday party at the pizza place, and it was assumed that another aunt picked the tot up and took her home. It is not uncommon for the girl to stay with that aunt for days at a time. And, the father does not have a phone so he did not call them.
Possible Not to Know Child Is Missing?- Unbelievable — The dad should not have assumed.
- Understandable — Everyone makes mistakes.
- Other — leave comment below.

I know it has happened. My FIL lost my little SIL one day. He fell asleep on the couch and the police brought her home to him, he had no idea that she left, walked 4 blocks away down to the school and the police found her and she showed them where she lived and brought her home, he had no idea she was not in the house. She was 4 at the time.

Are you talking about Adam Walsh, son of the "Americas Most Wanted" guy? He was taken from a Sears years ago, only his head was found. The killer never gave up the location of his body, and the family begged him to release the information before he died-he didn't.

^^ He started the show because of his son's disappearance and murder.
So sad.

If he's not with me, then yes, I could believe that he could get lost. With me? Not so much cause I'm a total control freak.

Yes he was, he was a big part of why the show was started, I read the book, I refused to go into Sears for a long time after that...

My parents did this to me once when I was 6; we were at the gas station; Dad got out to pump the gas, Mum went into the shop to pay. I got out because i wanted a lolly, so i followed her in. They both got back to the car before me and drove off without realizing i wasn't in the backseat. I saw the car gone, burst into tears and the attendant was worried that my parents had deliberately abandoned me! They came back about a minute later.

It's so disturbing to me what some sick people can do to small children. It is so creepy what happened to Adam Walsh, at least some good has come from his senseless death.
