Thank you McJag. I appreciate the feedback. I made sure she was old enough to ASK. When I entered her in one, she told me she really liked it and wanted to do more. She goes at her own pace. Does she GRAND SUPREME??? No, only about 2 or 3 times, at a state level. Mostly just wins her age division, and sometimes comes home without any title. I don't discipline her either if she "messes up". I always tell her to improvise if she forgets something. Unlike the Olympics, these judges have no clue what your routine is. Th only time they would catch anything is if you actually skip over one of the marked "X"'s on the stage, but even then, it's supposed to be a fun hobby.

If only every mother whose daughter does pageants could think the way you do. You must be a rarity. Keep going how you are, you are doing a good thing for your daughter, just remember not to turn into a manateyyyyyyyyyyy!

Hooray, so happy I am not being ostracized (or however it is spelled) for her hobby. Thanks! And it really is ashame the moms can't be like this.

Unfortunately it comes in every hobby. Right now she is in volleyball, and her coach has gone completely insane with winning. If one of the girls misses, she doesn't say, "good try", she says "get it over the net! Don't miss!". Furthermore they get additional workouts if they lose a game. I heard this and promptly told her that is inappropriate and not the correct way to motivate. Geez I could go on about her, but that day after I confrontend her, I said to my daughter, "Can you imagine her as a PAGEANT MOM!!!". Yep, got a good laugh (and cringe) out of that comment.
