10-15 years ago there were lots of documentaries on European television about this. People thought we were insane. I was asked occasionally if that sort of thing still went on in the US. After answering reluctantly in the affirmative, they'd just look at me sort of askew and say, "Are they crazy?" Yup!

Still no pageant moms? I think it must be pageant season and all the tards are out on the road hopping between Little Miss Charme de Beaute and Junior Teen Royale Elegance pageants.

It's the weekend, they're probably having their children prance around for judges right now.

The last pageant mom thread was the one that brought us that genius that had no idea what satire was and thought it was a TV show, right? That was my sig forever, I loved that so much.

I thought moms were supposed to think their children were beautiful "as is".
These "doll" pictures are disturbing. It's like the moms think the girls aren't even real human beings; they're gigantic dolls to play with and dress up. Someone needs to get them a Barbie doll or two and give their kids to an adult to raise.

^^ It bothers me too.
Why do they want their kids to look like plastic dolls? How is that beautiful?

I don't think it is but I don't find the artificial beautiful.
My mom's favorite picture of me is as a 10 year-old with glasses, braces, and buck teeth. It's the biggest one hanging on the wall. I hate that picture, but it touches me that she found me beautiful at my most awkward. I should show her these photos; she'd probably rant and rave for a couple of hours. French women are excellent at that.

Ok, ya'll....I will fess up. I did two maybe three pageants with my daughter when she was between the ages of one and two. We did a little local pageant that raised money for charity and my daughter won. Yeah, and ego kicked in and we did a couple more. What I saw was unreal. They teach nothing but to be catty and mean and beauty is looking like those awful pictures posted on here. The people spending the most money on it were those who didn't have it to spend.
