See, the same argument of how everything is bad and makes the child feel bad can be applied to EVERY activity a child will ever be involved in.

There ARE positive extracurricular activities, the point is, this isn't positive, this is demeaning and turning young girls into sexual objects. DOES THAT NOT MAKE SENSE?

I'm not going to try to change anyone's mind about generalizing what my child does into a "prostitot" description. I think Avenger has a point, you are judging without any sort of first hand interaction with said offending persons or activity.

I do get a kick out of telling folks in my daughter's other activities that she does pageants, their reactions are quite funny. I can't say what they are, I'll totally give us away. But she loves the dress up and getting on stage along with road trips and new friends. When it's not fun anymore we'll stop. )

Point is this thread is about pageants, not sports, don't mix the two. You seem like a nice lady, but that's not a very good argument. I don't need to have firsthand involvement in a murder to know it's wrong. I don't need to need to run a marathon to know that it takes a lot of effort. I mean, come on. There are things you can just LOOK at, and form an intelligent opinion on. We've looked at the pictures, examined the industry, and we've come to the conclusion that it's fucked from top to bottom.
