    card, don't feel bad. My well-meaning aunt entered my cousin in a few pageants way back in the early '80s, but quit as soon as she realized they were rigged. As a kid I remember thinking how odd it was to see my baby cousin (who was already naturally beautiful) getting hairspray and blush applied. My aunt would spend about $40 for the dresses, which was outrageously expensive at the time.

    Obviously that's nothing compared to how it is now though!!
