What is the purpose? How is this judged? Swimsuit competitions are judged on BODIES. C'mon..you are having pervo judges judge your little girls on how their bodies look in swimsuits. Disgusting!
I will try and answer. My daughter is older so I guess in your eyes that is ok? Swimwear is just another event that is not always mandatory. They are not judged on their bodies (or face generally) in swimwear though. The purpose is simply another modeling event. They are judged on overall appearance, personality/or modeling ability, fit of the suit/outfit, and sometimes facial beauty. It depends on the pageant on what they are judged on.
While I agree that the amount of make up on the younger ones can be extreme, I also see the nessecity of some stage make up. I danced for 17 years and due to the lights you have to have make up on or your face is washed out. As with anything some take things to the extreme.

Everyone gets different things from pageants and no you do not see the good side of pageants, most don't. My daughter does them because it is her choice and I continue to let her because it is her interest as is dance. If she decided to quit tomorrow and take up soccer, art or something else I would help her pursue that as well.
While yes there is a very dark side of pageantry there is also a very decent side. Many of the girls/moms do an extreme amount of charity work and can really pull together when someone is in need. Yes the main purpose of a beauty pageant, is these children are being judged on beauty...BUT it not always the child that most beautiful physically that wins(by most standards that is) When you have a child that is confident and having fun on stage it shows and generally that is what wins, because you can't help but smile when you see a child having fun. Pageant kids come in all shapes, sizes and color but ultimately it is the one that is confident and happy that wins(in fair systems that is lol)

BTW, I am not overwieght or ugly(well atleast my husband and I don't think so ) or jealous of others. We try and take something positive away from pageants and for my child it is time with her many friends that we have meet and getting to perform on stage which she loves. She has always been a very outgoing and confident person (but not overly) and pageants will not change that win or lose.

Again I am willing to answer any questions you may have.

Wow...one of the pageant moms actually posted her phone number on that open board today in the context of trying to defend herself for something. I feel kinda bad for the hell she just unleashed on herself. You know they grabbed that phone number as soon as they saw it.

Yeah, I feel almost sorry for the women but most definitely for the kids. You just know that those kids heads are going to be photoshopped onto porn pictures and circulated the the serial killer fandom along with the contact info for the kids and families. Hell hath no fury.

Honey..That IS being judged n their bodies..APPEARANCE, Fit of the suit, modeling ability..c'mon..what do you think that is?

And " The purpose is simply another modeling event' is NOT an answer really now is it?

And actually, if you daughter is really older, as in close to legal age, age of consent, etc. Then I have no real problem with it-she is not a 'little kid' then, and should be old enough to say 'No" If she is 16 or 17 years old, personally I do not care, and she can strut her stuff all she wants. Because SHE would be old enough. BIG difference between that and a 7 year old. Why do you think we have NOT attacked Teens doing this?

There is a reason we used words like 'prostitot' and 'kinderwhore'. These words would NOT apply to a 16 or 17 year old IMO. Hell even I would not apply those terms to any teens..those are for the pre-teen to actual INFANTS in swimsuits. Which is much worse IMO. Pedo's are NOT attracted to teens..more like preteens and under. (while older men lusting after teens is sick, it is not the real sickness of the pedo.).

A swimsuit event (with judging) for girls who have not even reached puberty yet is inherently wrong. Face it, swimsuit events for females are meant to show off the female body, and these kids do not even HAVE 'female' bodies yet! When you have to really try and make them look older by adding fake glue on breasts, tons of makeup, adult hair, etc. to distract from the fact that they do not have real female bodies yet, is an indication that SOMETHING IS WRONG.

Personality? Standing in a bathing suit?

    The rest: complete dreck. Sick.

I love how these retarded women still insist on signing up here to try and defend themselves while they're in the midst of a pair of psychos over there on the pageant board.

I seriously think the pageant thing is a moot point by now... the crazy women are probably enjoying it.

They need attention so badly so they are loving this. At least it is a small part of the day where they are living directly through through their daughters.

They need to go back to shilling Avon door to door to pay for the 12 pounds of makeup their daughters wear daily.

^ Don't forget all the banners they made with their daughters' wearing the clothes they are selling.

It has their names, emails and phone numbers on it.

Stupid 'tards, why do you have pictures of your kids with their names and contact info on it?

You should just write on it, "Hi Pedos! Please come get my daughter!"
