    Default Death by sinkhole

I saw this video while reading about a FOURTH sinkhole being found in Florida within the last month. And we are going to be visiting relatives there this weekend.

The poor guy below was caught on security tape falling into a sinkhole in China.

I've been seeing on the news about how there are more sinkholes developing in the same neighborhood where that man died, and I've been wondering: is there no way they can do soil studies, use sonar, or whatever, to determine the stability of the land before they build a whole housing complex on it?!?

This is an odd place for this thread. Was the guy a pageant kid?

The latest Florida sinkholes alll seems to be happening in Seffner, which is where my BIL and SIL live and where we are visiting this weekend. Last night, a sinkhole was discovered in a neighborhood less than 1 mile from their house..

I couldn't figure out if it should go here or under Laughs and Oddities. He was carrying a "pageanty" umbrella, though.

Yep, they do all those things! The land /was/ stable because of the water supporting it, but now that the waters are being drilled and used there really isn't much to support the hallow ground. :|
