Fairborn sex offender asks police for directions to kids’ pageant

FAIRBORN — A registered sex offender pleaded not guilty Friday, July 9, to disorderly conduct and resisting arrest charges from a July 3 incident that began after the Fairborn man asked a police officer where the “Little Miss Fairborn” pageant was so that he could take pictures.

Michael Lynn Light, who was arraigned in Fairborn Municipal Court, is listed by the Greene County Sheriff’s Office Website as a Tier II sex offender whose victim was a female child.

According to a draft of the incident report, Fairborn police arrested Light, 40, at about 8 p.m. July 3 after trying to question him about reports that he was riding his bicycle through a crowded, closed-off portion of E. Main Street during the July 3 Fairborn Block Party.

The report states Fire Marshal Carl Day told Light to stop riding there because it was dangerous to others. Light began cursing and stated that Day couldn’t tell him what to do because he was not a police officer.

Day then talked to two Fairborn police officers, who tried to speak with Light. Light avoided them while riding and then walking with his bike. Finally, the officers confronted Light, who pushed one officer, swore loudly at the officers and at Day and said he was being harassed for no reason.

Light refused to be handcuffed when advised he was being arrested for disorderly conduct. Light, who is 6 feet, 2 inches tall and 210 pounds, struggled with officers before being handcuffed and charged with resisting arrest.

The report said Light’s wife then walked up and took possession of the bicycle.

Light, one of eight registered sex offenders living in a Fairborn neighborhood near both Bethlehem Lutheran Elementary and the Creative World of Child Care, was booked into Greene County Jail at 9:20 p.m. July 3. His next court date is July 20.

as wrong as pageants are, i don't think they attract paedos any more than, say, a public park or a beach or a pool full of children or a gymnastics class or summer camp. or an open-air school yard for that matter. does that mean all those places should be closed down as well? i'm sure there are more paedos taking pictures of kids on a beach than there at pageants.

But I wonder if the pedos, while going for what they can get most readily, would not find a pageant particularly to their tastes because the children are 'sexualized' with the hair, makeup, clothing, and the rest.

There are only so many pageants, and so many more soccer games, beaches, schoolyards, etc.

I still think it is pedo-delight because of the 'sexualization' factor. He wanted pics because he wanted pics not just little girls, but of sexualized little girls-and he could not get that at the local park. JMO.

Why do pedos like kiddie porn?-because they, like the rest of us, like to sexualize what they are attracted to. Just like women(many anyway) like beefcake shots of hotguys with their shirts off, men like women in just about any porn/state of undress, etc. etc. This is not kiddie porn, but pics of these pageants would be closer to it for these sickos than regular pics of regular kids doing regular things.

Also, most of these pedophiles, along with being pedos, are MALE-highly visually stimulated and, well, men like porn and their objects of desire to be sexualized visually.

soj, i get what you're saying but i don't think all paedos are into little girls dressed like tramps, which is essentially what pageants are. i'm sure there are just as many of them who get off on kids looking as innocent as possible, i.e. normal, non-tarted up kids like you see everywhere. basically, i don't think pageants are any more of a paedo trap than your average pool.
