Buy some net curtains - then anyone passing by can't see in unless they get right up by your window, and then you can get them for trespass and being a peeping tom. When it's time to turn lights on close the drapes. Problem solved.

1. The guy wasn't doing anything lascivious. Just making his coffee. That ought to say volumes about his intent and whether he was trying to shock someone or get thrills from it.

2. I think it's possible that a pretty decent percentage of the population has been naked near a window that had the blinds open or shades up (inadvertently or accidentally). I don't think they should have their whole lives ruined and be on a sex-offender list because someone accidentally saw a person who didn't know he was naked near a window. Is that what law enforcement is coming to???

3. Unfortunately, this totally makes sense for Virginia.

Good point! Couldn't she be charged as a peeping tom?

I loathe curtains. I think they are unsanitary. Right or wrong of me, they get filled with debris, mold and dust.

Springfield is located in Northern Virginia, which to us NOVA natives isn't really comparable to the rest of the state. We're considered the least conservative...

Chincoteague beach (northern Virginia), and Assateague beach (southern Maryland) used to be unofficial clothing-optional beaches (and sparsely populated, so it wasn't like a lot of people would get offended).

Now, on the Maryland side, they will fine you (depending on the officer's mood) if they catch you. In Virginia, they will put you on a sex offender's list. Virginia is really punitive about nudity.

This is ridiculous. All the cops needed to do is tell the guy that a complaint was filed and that he needed to be more careful since he's by a bus stop, and could he please remember to close the curtains next time? I'm sure that would have solved it. If he really WAS someone who was getting his kicks by exposing himself to others, they would know if they had to go a second time after giving him a warning. This is lunacy.

Chincoteague Island is not considered part of "Northern Virginia". Northern Virginia is usually only considered the DC metropolitan area and sometimes one or two of the counties bordering it. Chincoteague would be in the area considered "real" Virginia.
