Turlock, California man kills baby and is shot to death by police

Jesus christ yall; yes there are people out there who may possibly think the man should have gotten due process... some will even go so far as to say that since the damage was probably so severe to the child that shooting the man made no difference in the outcome... I don't doubt someone thinks that.
People have convictions and sometimes they are so strong and "unreasonable" it doesn't matter what the circumstances are.
An aside, there was a case in the last two weeks of a Texas man on death row; there was a stay of execution at the last minute because of the lethal injection mess going on. The family of his victims (He strangled, raped and stabbed a woman to death also stabbing her 2 year old son more than 9 times) was freaking out; I was pissed off like a mother fucker... someone I know said aloud to the family's reaction "where is your Christian forgiveness" at that point I flipped my lid saying the man needs to die and I went so far as to ask "If someone did that to me and my son you would forgive them? What the fuck is wrong with you?"
People are just different.
This guy is dead, an innocent child died a horrible death. I just want to know why.

UPDATE -- 12:40 p.m. TURLOCK — The toddler who was beaten to death on a dark country road Saturday night was killed by his father, The Bee learned today. At the scene of the beating, someone left a teddy bear and a rose today, apparently a memorial for the boy who was killed.

Sergio Aguilar, 27, parked his gold 2002 Toyota truck on West Bradbury Road near the intersection of South Blaker Road in rural Stanislaus County, then punch, kicked and stomped the small boy to death until a Modesto police officer, dropped on the scene by a helicopter, shot the man dead.

Birth records show the baby boy was born May 8, 2006. The mother, Frances Liliana Casian, did not want to comment this morning.

The boy's name has not been released.

UPDATE -- 2:08 p.m. TURLOCK — The Stanislaus County coroner will use DNA technology to confirm that the toddler savagely beaten to death on a rural road near Turlock was killed by his father, the sheriff's department said today. Detectives said Sergio Casian Aguilar, 27, had no criminal record.

A sheriff's statement said Chief Coroner Krist Ah You is working with the state Department of Justice to expedite results from the DNA test within a week, instead of the usual four to six weeks.

Toxicology tests on Aguilar's body and on the body of the child will be taken. Those results are expected in about four weeks.

If the man truly believed the baby had demons, he was probably quite crazy & out of touch with reality. In a small way, this relieves me somewhat, because to me, crazy is much less scary & disturbing than evil. Too bad there's so much of both.

This story is horrifying. It's absolutely sickening but if the man hadn't been killed I would want him to get a fair trial. He was probably completely insane and not accountable. He probably belonged to a mental institution.

I don't believe in the death penalty. I'm glad that I live in a country where it doesn't exist and I hope it will never be practiced here or the rest of Europe again.

I just think some people need to die; "insane" or not... the only issue I have with the death penalty are the faults in the judicial system that may lead to a person being falsely convicted.
This man was witnessed commiting a most brutal attack on a toddler; what due process is there? Oh he's obviously batshit insane... I'm tired of that defense... so someone is crazy? They drown their children, they stab their twin daughters, they just go on a shooting spree, they stomp a child in the street, they cut off their 2 year old's arms, they rape and strangle because the neighbor's dog told them to... I don't give a fuck how crazy this person is; they're like a dog that bites and need to be put down.

I agree. An animal can't help being rabid anymore than aperson can help being 'crazy' but they still put them down, don't they? If you're that fucked up then you should consider it an act of kindness for someone to put you out of your misery and keep you from hurting others.

If Mr Joe Public with a licensed gun had come across that horrific scene and had shot the sick fuck in the head to stop him, guess who would end up in Court defending murder charges. Hopefully he would be acquitted, especially as he would probably have spent several months in jail already awaiting trial, but knowing how skewed the justice system is anything could happen.
