There was a picture on Twitter that showed a little girl partially covered by a sheet with her dolly right next to her on the ground. She was probably there with her family enjoying the warm summer night and fireworks like we did here in the US and Canada just a couple weeks ago for our national holidays. I'm so sad for her and the life she should have had. Fuck these guys who do this and their death cult ideology, all of them.

    - 75 dead
    - 50+ in critical condition
    - 100+ wounded
    - Grenades and ammo found

Copied from a Twitter post. Appalling.

This is so awful and sad.

I saw a link to a video on Twitter earlier of the damage. So many injured and killed people just lying in the street. Sorry, I'm not going back to find the link - I highly recommend NOT watching it. I'll never get that out of my head.

I ended up seeing one small clip on CNN, it was so disturbing and chilling, hearing the cries and people running for their lives.

The truck hit people for 1.3 miles. I cannot wrap my brain around that - so messed up.

This makes me sick. Any word on who was driving the truck?

One paper reported a 31 y/o frenchman of Tunisian origin but that's not confirmed.

No terrorist group has taken credit.

France has endured so much lately. I don't understand why they seem to be more targeted than our other sister European nations.

France has a long tangled history with Muslims, more so than most other European nations. Algeria, Morocco, Syria, Lebanon...The past matters.

There is still lingering resentment from the years of colonialism, yes. And the Algerian war was barely over 53 years ago. Seems like a long time, but people who fought in that war are still living, still nursing old wounds.

Same goes for The Netherlands. Finally the people from old colonies (including my relatives from Indonesia and people from Surinam etc) are raising their voices against the institutional racism and "traditions" like the Black Pete situation with the St. Nick celebrations in December. The old colonizers are very thick headed and have absolutely no ability or will to try and view things from the point of the people of color.
