Oh God, me too. But this shows why we shouldn't judge and interfere, as tempting as it is sometimes. The kid we assume is just a bratty 7-year-old having a hissy fit could be autistic; we wouldn't necessarily know the difference.

Anyway, this boy was being removed from the library. If a kid is already being disciplined by their caregiver then the job is being done, so just mind your own business instead of breaking the kid's nose. It's not like the (non-autistic) little terrors you see running amok and their parents utterly ignoring it, not attempting to do anything.

It's the blatant letting them get away with it that shits me.

I would never actually hit one. I'm just sick of them all. I'm definitely heading into the "seen and not heard" mindset.

I get angry whenever I go to the library now. People are chatting on their cellphones, kids are screaming, adults shouting across rows. It used to be a quiet place where you could get some peace. Maybe the old guy was in a similar state of library disgust.

I was in Walmart yesterday (Oh,hush! I found a great computer chair in honey beige suede for 84 bucks!) and could hear screaming kids from every direction. I wanted to smack all the parents.

Holy moly! I had the same experience in Wal-Mart yesterday (don't anybody judge me either. My kid wants Beatles Rockband for Christmas) and I wanted to slap the tee-total shit out of at least 2 parents.

A few months ago it seemed that slapping a stranger's child out in public was the sport of the moment. There was story after story of angry old bitches high-fiving kids in the face. One of those stories starred retired Hall of Fame coach Frank Teverbaugh. A card that read "Reserved for Frank Teverbaugh" was placed on a VIP table in Hell when the story broke that the 76-year-old pepaw allegedly back-handed an autistic boy who was throwing a tantrum at the public library.
At the time, the boy's mother claimed Coach Teverbaugh told her son to "shut the fuck up" before hitting him twice in the face, giving him a bloody nose.
Well, it looks like all charges against Coach Teverbaugh will be flushed down the toilet. In court today, his attorney presented several video clips from the library's security cameras that completely contradicts the mother's story. Coach Teverbaugh never slapped or cursed out the boy. An independent witness testified that the boy's mother overreacted. Basically, the mom tried to take a pepaw down! Werther's Originals will never taste sweet to her again. Click here to see the clips if you care.
Coach Teverbaugh's attorney said, “We think she should be charged for false reporting. It’s clear she was lying.”
And Coach Teverbaugh himself issued this statement: "Ahs so happeh I could slap a red-headed autistic boy!" No, he didn't say that.

Well I'm glad that was sorted out. He may have said something, but I probably would have too. I hate parents who just let their children do whatever they want. Yes, sometimes it's a good tactic to not give a child who is throwing a tantrum attention, but the parents who say "oh just let them go, its okay" annoy the hell out of me.

Kids standing on food counters, running around libraries, putting their hands through food utensils on tables at restaurants & walking around. Most parents just let their kids do whatever they want these days.

Only every now and again I will encounter parents that are trying to teach their kids manners - simple things like saying please and thank you.

I occassionally work with children and when a mother asked her child to look at me when he was speaking to me, and to thank me at the end it shocked me (in a good way) because Im just used to kids and parents being rude.

Simple manners should be standard practice wouldn't you think?

This is wonderful! Thank you. They should lock the mother and the kid up for a few years for lying.
