I have to admit, there is one thing I like about Krispy Kreme:
When my nieces and nephews come over (usually on a weekend), I will get up before they do, and go out to Krispy Kreme and buy two dozen donuts -- all kinds. It's their favorite place, but they don't have one anywhere near where they live. It is really fun to give them something that they love.

In BC here there is a krispy kreme and a tim hortons a within a block of each other, guess which one is miserably failing
Tim Hortons is cheaper, and better. Where you get a coffee and a doughnut for a toonie, with change back!

Tims donuts are ass. They're fucking frozen and thawed and they taste like chemicals. They USED to be good, before the late 90's.

Yep. Supermarket ones or ones that aren't fresh, like more than 3-4 hours old just suck, don't even bother. Fresh, hot KK donuts though are heavenly.

At least you're in Ontario. Your frozen donuts don't get shipped all the way across the country, you get frozen donuts promptly
There are two things from timmy's that I miss. Those 'Bow-tie' pastry things with the whipped cream, chocolate, cherries, etc. and the double chocolate cakes they used to carry.

Yep, exactly. Bought some in Nevada convenience store because I was starving and out of options, and I was like, "Whatever, they're decebt enough. Let me just gobble this down 'cause I'm my stomach has already become a blackhole."

If you microwave them for about 9-10 seconds, they get warm and soft again.

I thought I posted this earlier, but I just found out two weeks ago that my local Krispy Kreme closed its doors. The nearest one is now 30 miles away.

^^ See? You can go get a donut and then walk back home to work it off. Win, win!

Krispy Kreme is too damned expensive. Seven dollars for a dozen plain donuts. Three dollars for a small drink. Almost two dollars for a small black coffee. The local bakeries are kicking its ass and its no surprise. Besides, they don't taste like they did years ago. They are harder and more sugary.
