i don't have a problem with 'blatant pornography' per se. a lot of photographers cross that line and make even pretty hardcore stuff interesting, some of it as a sort of pastiche of porn even. and some of 'terryworld' was pretty amusing but from what i can tell richardson hasn't really evolved from that.

All I see when I look at his work is amateur porn. I see nothing special about his work and don't know why he is a big deal.

Terry Richardson’s Up To His Usual Tricks

Because Terry Richardson wasn’t going to let Bryan Singer get all the attention for being a creepy pervert ho who promises young things work in exchange for a coagulated cum load to the face, he supposedly Facebook message’d a model and promised her a Vogue shoot if she screwed him. Model Emma Appleton from London tweeted (and later deleted) a screenshot of scab on the fashion industry’s asshole Uncle Terry telling her she can fuck him for a Vogue spread. Well, if she did it, it wouldn’t be the first time someone fucked for a Vogue spread (see: Kanye West letting Anna Wintour tap him with a Lanvin dildo for that nail in the coffin cover). Here’s the screenshot courtesy of Complex:

Of course, a bunch of whores shamed Emma and told her to kiss her modeling career goodbye, so she hit the delete button on her Twitter account, but before she did that, she had a few things to say.

I was like whaaat and he said yes or no? I just said um no I’m not your girl, bye ha. This industry is fucked up. I’ve been modelling for 5 years and I’ve never had this before, it doesn’t make it okay. Beginning to wish I hadn’t posted that…it doesn’t matter who you are or the what the industry is, just be a decent human being. The fact people think this is acceptable blows my fucking mind. See ya.

But Terry’s spokeswhore tells Kate Authur of Buzzfeed that he never sent that message and Emma obviously made it up. I know, it’s hard to believe that the visual definition of “creeper” who makes you want to blow on a rape whistle every time you see him and who has a history of terrorizing models would ask a model to fuck him for a Vogue spread. But you know, that message is out of character for Terry. Since when is he ever up front like that? I mean, based on what I’ve heard, he’d usually just book her for the shoot and at the very end, pull his dick out and cum in her eye without asking, “May I cum in your eye?”
And Posh Spice sort of just got the answer to the question she asks herself every day: Who do I have to fuck to get a Vogue cover?

Shocking that he would be so blatant! It will piss me off if this gets proven to be "fake" and even if it is I wouldn't doubt someone from his camp being behind it anyway. Damned if he does, damned if the nasty bastard doesn't.

This was an interesting response from Vogue:

Vogue also gave this statement about Richardson: "The last assignment Terry Richardson had for US Vogue appeared in the July 2010 issue and we have no plans to work with him in the future," said Director of Communications, Hildy Kuryk.

    Why Terry Richardson Always Wins

    By Amanda Hess
Terry Richardson still gets invited to things. Here he is at Pharrell Williams' birthday party.
Photo by Bryan Bedder/Getty Images for Nickelodeon

Sunday night, British model Emma Appleton posted a screenshot of her iPhone to her Twitter feed, featuring a Facebook message—allegedly from the infamous fashion photographer Terry Richardson—that had just popped up on her phone. It read: “If i can fuck you i will book you in ny for a.shoot for Vogue.” Within hours, Richardson’s reps had called Appleton a liar, and Appleton had shut down her Twitter account to hide from the deluge of public attention hurtling her way.

This is a familiar news cycle for fashion’s skeeviest photographer. Models go public with allegations of Richardson’s harassing behavior. Richardson accuses the models of lying, defends his provocations as art, and criticizes the press for drumming up false controversy. Then, Richardson continues to work with A-listers like Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, and Beyoncé, while the lower-profile models who have spoken out against him are forced to shoulder the burden of sexual harassment in their industry.

“I didn't actually think it would blow up so much,” Appleton told me over email Sunday night shortly after she posted the message. She says she tweeted it “because it's so inappropriate yet people think it's acceptable,” but quickly took the tweet down after receiving “abuse” over it. For example, clothing designer Carlton Yaito told her (in a since-deleted tweet): “You’re in the industry and you’re surprised by that message? You’re in the wrong industry, sweetheart.” A rep for Richardson took the opposite approach, telling BuzzFeed: “This is obviously a fake. Terry did not send this text.” Richardson's camp claims that Appleton faked the message. (Richardson didn’t respond to an email request for comment.) Appleton then posted a note to her Instagram to clarify that she is not seeking attention over the matter. “I just want it to go away,” she told me earlier in the evening. “Hopefully he gets stopped, though.”

    Screengrab via Twitter

This is, as I mentioned, not the first accusation against Richardson. At least one model says she was forced to walk off Richardson’s set when she refused to perform oral sex as a part of her duties. And it’s worth noting that Richardson has not always favored flat denials of such tactics: In 2007, he told an interviewer, “It’s not who you know, it’s who you blow. I don’t have a hole in my jeans for nothing.”

Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 outlaws workplace sexual harassment where “submission to or rejection of [unwelcome sexual] conduct by an individual is used as the basis for employment decisions affecting such individual,” or where the unwelcome sexual conduct “unreasonably interfer[es] with an individual's job performance” or creates an “intimidating, hostile or offensive working environment” for others on the job. Basically, sexual harassment laws were made to stem abuses of power from people like Terry Richardson. But these laws don’t apply to independent contractors, like models and photographers shooting spreads for Vogue, because unlike employees, freelancers are free to take their talents elsewhere, where sex isn’t part of the job description. That leaves the issue up to publications, journalists, advocates, and the models themselves to sort out.

U.S. Vogue told BuzzFeed that it has “no plans” to work with Richardson in the future and hasn’t since 2010 (though international editions of Vogue have worked with him as recently as this year, and he also regularly gets paid by GQ, Interview, Harper’s Bazaar, and the Wall Street Journal). The nonprofit organization the Model Alliance offers free assistance for models looking for help lodging complaints about sexual harassment on set. But Alan S. Gould, an attorney who works with the Alliance, told me that short of pursuing criminal claims of sexual assault, models don't have much legal recourse beyond speaking out. “If enough people complained publicly, I'd assume some of these publications would start to ask some questions about it,” he says. Then again, “if these places do work regularly with the photographer, it might be that they've decided that he's just worth it.” So until entertainment’s most powerful institutions decide that it’s simply wrong (or else bad for their brands) to keep working with harassers, the Terry Richardson news cycle will keep repeating itself. As Appleton put it: “There are too many young, vulnerable girls this industry can exploit.”

Terry Richardson denies sexually harassing a model. Again.

I'm constantly surprised that this walking fester of nasty is still in demand in any way, shape or form. Aside from the constant rumours and allegations about him he's not actually a good photographer. Most of his work is samey, overlit and unimaginative. I've seen better stuff in exhibitions by photography students and by hobbyists sharing their pictures on Facebook.

Latest Terry Richardson sex scandal was a hoax: expert

Fashion photographer Terry Richardson has again been accused of bad behavior involving a young model — but it was a hoax, according to a web expert.

    Modal TriggerPhoto: News.com.au

On Sunday, UK model Emma Appleton claimed she received a Facebook message from Richardson saying, “If i can [bleep] you i will book you in ny for a shoot for Vogue.”

After she posted the message on Twitter, Vogue weighed in, saying it has “no plans” to work with him.

But sources told us Facebook found the account from which the message was sent in violation of standards of authenticity, and not from a verified Richardson account.

Online forensic expert, Theo Yedinsky, said Facebook had removed the fake account, which he discovered was set up two weeks ago from “some random Gmail account.”

A source close to Richardson said, “The whole thing is defamatory and possibly illegal. Appleton’s agent was informed about the fake account . . . but refused to acknowledge the truth and continued to grandstand.”

Appleton has deleted her Twitter profile, saying, “If the account is fake, then it needs to be removed. If it is real, then he is a hideous human.”

Richardson has previously been accused in the press of sexual misconduct with models.

    No charges were ever filed.

'I felt his d*** pressing into my face': Controversial photographer Terry Richardson faces yet ANOTHER sexual assault accusation

Fashion photographer Terry Richardson has been faced with yet another claim from a woman who says he sexually assaulted her.
In an e-mail to Jezebel, a New York-based writer and stylist named Anna writes that she was 23 when the controversial photographer invited her to a photo shoot at his home, where he proceeded to ask her to reveal her 'tits' while he posed next to her.
He then apparently asked her to crouch down on the floor, and 'suddenly, I felt a d*** pressing into the side of my face,' she reveals. 'He pressed it to my lips. He clearly wanted a blow job and wanted it documented on camera.'

More controversy: Fashion photographer Terry Richardson 9pictured in April) has been faced with yet another claim from a woman who says he sexually assaulted her when she was 23

Anna says she was at a launch party for a restaurant called Delicatessan in New York City's Nolita neighborhood in 2008 when Richardson's assistant Leslie Lessin approached her.
'They wanted to know if I would be willing to skip out on the party for a few minutes and go do an impromptu photo shoot at Terry's home/studio on Bowery, just a few blocks away,' she explains.
'Never one to turn down an ill-advised adventure or an appeal to my vanity, I said, "Sure!"'

But when they arrived at his home, things turned sour when Ms Lessin took the camera and shot them under his direction.

Anna describes the horrifying moment when she realized Richardson, who was 43 at the time, was pressing himself against her while his assistant giggled and snapped photos.
'I didn't want to act scared or angry because I was in this guy's apartment with no one else around aside from his equally screwed-up assistant and who knows what these psychos were capable of,' she writes.

'So I merely muttered something about having to get back to the party and jetted the hell out of there.'
Later, she says she received a call at work from Ms Lessin, who told her she was Richardson's 'new muse' and suggested she surprise the photographer at his apartment for his birthday.
'And when he opens the door, you just grab him and make out with him. Then run away! He will absolutely love that,' the assistant told her. Dumbfounded, Anna refused, and she never heard from them again.
'I didn't want to act scared because I was in his apartment with no one else around except his equally screwed-up assistant'

Anna said she was hasn't revealed her story until now because she thought no one would care about a 'non-model' being sexually assaulted, especially without any solid proof.
But she was finally prompted to open up after hearing recent reports that New York magazine is planning on doing a cover story absolving Richardson of the multiple sexual assault accusations he has faced over the years.
'The guy shouldn't just be locked out from the fashion photography world, he should be in jail,' she stated. 'Add another girl to the list!'

Creepy accomplice: Anna says Richardson, who was 43 at the time, 'pressed his d*** against her face' while his assistant (pictured) giggled and snapped photos

Richardson, 48, has strongly denied previous accusations - mostly from models he has worked with - that he has acted inappropriately towards them.
In a letter obtained by Page Six in March, he called the allegations 'lies' and said the claims were nothing more than an 'emotionally-charged witch-hunt'.
'People have become comfortable concocting hate-filled and libelous tales,' he said. 'In writing this, I make a humble attempt at correcting these rumors. Without my voice, all that remain are the lies.'
Allegations against Richardson have come from high profile celebrities and actresses, as well younger, more anonymous models, but most have been incredibly damning of his conduct towards the women he works with.

Popular guy: Despite the numerous accusations against him, mostly form models he has snapped, Richardson continues to be one of the mot sought-after fashion photographers (left with Rihanna, and right with Kate Moss)

Supermodel Coco Rocha told Fashion magazine in July 2010: 'I've shot with [Richardson] but I didn't feel comfortable and I won't do it again.'
In April of this year, British model Emma Appleton claimed he offered her a shoot with Vogue magazine in exchange for sex.
'He shouldn't just be locked out from the fashion photography world, he should be in jail'

This particular accusation resulted in the magazine stating that it had 'no plans' to work with him ever again.
And Danish model Rie Rasmussen said that the girls who work with Richardson 'are too afraid to say no because their agency booked them on the job and are too young to stand up for themselves.'
Yet he continues to be one of the mot sought-after photographers in the fashion industry, having done shoots with Charlize Theron, Mariah Carey, Rita Ora and Lindsay Lohan in the past three months alone.
Terry Richardson talks about how he gets his subjects to 'do what...

When you decide to work for/with someone (especially in the setting of their own home) like Terry Richardson, someone who's perversions are made quite clear in his body of work then you need to be aware of the situation and prepare yourself. If you've seen Terry's work or read anything about him you should know that he gets naked quite often in his studio and takes "shocking" photos of young girls.
He's a total cliche. I know quite a few male new york photographers (some famous/well known some not) and most of them kind of remind me of terry: older single guys who take nude/scandalous pictures of young girls and they usually end up sleeping with or coming onto these girls. they use their "art" as a means to act out sick fantasies.
But honestly, this girl is 19 years old she needs learn that if she's going to put herself in this sort of position to be with someone who is notorious for being creepy and weird who has already made her uncomfortable she has a choice and she should have told him that she was leaving if he wasn't going to take her seriously or she should have just left. I wasn't there but I'm not buying it especially if other people are around. You're an adult you make decisions for yourself and no one is forcing you to give terry richardson a hand job. that was a decision you made.

We can all say "I would have ripped his dick off and slammed it down his throat!" when we aren't or haven't been in that kind of situation but the reality is that sometimes you just freeze. We are taught from an early age not to make a scene, societal guilt tells us that if something happens to us then we are, in part, responsible and then there's also having to deal with the shock that something so outlandish could really happen and that it's happening to us. I was once felt up by a perv as I was waiting to get off a bus and everything I'd ever said went straight out of the window because I had a total brain fart and wanted only to flee. I reported it afterwards but only after I'd got into work and had a chance to sit down and process what had happened and for the reality of it to hit me.

Of course predators like Richardson also have the advantage of being in a position of power over the young women they molest. Modelling is a brutally competitive business and to even get on the first rung of the career ladder is a major achievement, so when you have someone making it clear that they can rip all of that from underneath you with just a few words the situation gets a whole lot more complicated.
