^^I guess no thin people ever eat junk food? I've seen plenty of skinny people out shoving greasy, disgusting fattening foods down their throats. How come it's ok for them to do it? Nobody should be eating that shit. Including thin people. Thin people can also have health problems from eating junk food, too it's just from the outside,it isn't as obvious.
Why is it that people around here seem to think that thin= healthy? Well,it doesn't and they can be just as out of shape as a fat person can be. Plus there are lots of people who are a drain on the health care system that aren't nearly as picked on as fat people are. What about smokers, druggies, and drunks? They must get a free pass as long as they're not fat.

If you are getting fat because of your unhealthy diet, then youve got a problem. If you stay skinny while eating junk food then I'm jealous and hate you.
I'm not talking about thin as you can count your rib cages, there is a difference between being obese, skinny and healthy. being too skinny can also be unhealthy.
Where did I say smokers and druggies and drunks were ok but fat people werent? Are you telling me that fat people ARENT unhealthy and a drain on the system? An unfortunate waste of money that could be better spent elsewhere in the healthcare system? Dont throw in unrelated elements like those, we are specifically talking about weight.

What about lung cancer? Most is attributed to smoking, which is entirely a lifestyle choice. As others pointed out, there are other habits which are just as bad (if not worse) than those that contribute to obesity.

Cancer, whatever it is that caused it to occur, cannot be cured. There is no proven way to get rid of that condition. However, there are ways to loose weight. I'm hoping this makes sense...it does in my mind but I cannot always express myself properly...

Smokers get a free pass in this site? Have you been reading ANY posts in threads where smoking comes up?

What about other forms of cancer?
Being obese can also be prevented. So why is there an obesity epidemic?

not necessarily true. there is a high incidence of lung cancer among women who have never smoked. the reasons why are not known.
and it is true that thin people can be unhealthy, but it is KNOWN that morbidly obese people are a drain on the healthcare system. they have more health conditions, it is harder to do procedures/surgery on them and have higher insurance premiums as a result.

The high cost of obesity causes everyone's insurance premiums to go up, not just those of the obese. And a lot of our tax money goes to treatment of obesity-related disease (diabetes, heart attacks, strokes, etc.). I read somewhere that half of treatment dollars for obesity-related health issues are paid for by Medicaid/Medicare. Those are YOUR tax dollars, people!

If you're thin and shoving that shit down your throat it'll catch up to you and plant itself on your ass. No one should eat that shit. You don't think fat people smoke, drink, or do drugs? It's a double whammy... Also go look at that skinny drugged out drunken hog Amy Winehouse's threads before you start saying that other people with bad habits get a free pass.

I think uneducated teenage alcoholics are bigger drains than obese people. They offer little to world in terms of experience and often live in their own fantasy world where every thing is fine in their imagination. In reality they are pathetic depressed people. Their alcoholism is preventable too.

I agree with you that alcholism is a big problem too, however, does that mean that Obese people aren't a drain on the health care system?
I hope no one is taking my opinion as a personal attack, I'm not exactly skinny myself. However I am very aware that obese people are a drain on the health care system and it is extremely unhealthy to be obese. I also know how preventable obesity is and alot of obese people complain about their weight, know they are unhealthy, but still will eat unhealthy food and not exercise.
