It's mean to expect her to exercise any self-control because its REALLY hard and it's far better to whine and make excuses and continue to live a miserable life and make her family miserable too. Because one day a magical unicorn fairy is going to come along and make the fat disappear without all that pesky exercise or healthy living.

That's what these people seem to want - to be able to stuff their faces and lie around doing nothing but without the wheezing and chafing and growing a couch on their arses. I don't feel sorry for her; I'll save my sympathy for people who really want their lives back and are willing to accept responsibility for making the change (whether it's diet, surgery, counselling, whatever).

I finally watched this last night. This woman was a nasty, heinous beast. I felt so sad for her son though, because you can tell she made him that way.

But I could tell by her saying over and over again "this is my last hope" before she even met the doctor, that she was going to fail. And her poor sad sack son. Ugh. Every time she whined and cried OWIE, I wanted to slap her silly. Owie. What grown assed person constantly whines owie?

I work very closely with a 53 year old guy who must weigh at least 500. He is passive aggressive, bitter, and super judgmental. It's maddening. The strange thing is, he has a sister and brother who are also as huge. None of them have ever had a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship. They are all single in their 50's. Maybe even virgins. The guy I work with is clearly addicted to food. I have never seen him use a utensil except when we have cake. I have never seen him drink anything other than diet coke. He brings McDonald's food to work almost every day. You know what is weird? It stinks up the office. It does not smell like food at all. It stinks. On the occasions he brings in Sonic food, or Jack In The Box (gag) at least that smells like real food.

He whines and cries about how he missed out on having a family. I have tried to get him to try online dating sites. There has to be someone out there. But no. I really believe this poor soul is so comfortable being unhappy, that changing would be too hard for him. When he's is not around we talk about how it would surprise no one if he croaked any minute. He does not lift a finger to change either. He and I were talking about the lap band surgery once. He said he wouldn't do it because he would have to give up drinking soda. He then began to describe how the burn in his throat from guzzling soda was so pleasurable to him, he'd never quit it. This guy does not drink alcohol, or smoke, or do any drugs. I guess his drug is food.

He has special gigantic very very expensive chairs at work. He broke the arms off one. Then the wheels of course started breaking. They got him a new chair last year. He was complaining that the hydraulic pump was already failing and that he thought people must be bouncing around on it when he's not there. He never takes responsibility for anything. He barely does his fair share of work, but complains when we treat him in kind. I really think he has a mental disorder. He is so wrapped up in his own victimstance that he can't see what a jerk he is. He is exactly like this Pauline broad. So miserable and nasty that after awhile people quit caring.

I used to care about this guy, because I knew he had to be coming from a place of pain. But his obnoxious passive aggressive behavior put an end to it. And like the doctor saying there was nothing more he could do for Pauline, I wash my hands of this douche too.
i hate to be the rude greedy bitch bringing this up, but if you work in a small office, all of your insurance rates will probably increase when he starts having extended hospital stays. I will give until I have nothing left for somebody giving an honest effort, but it irks me when I have to pay for someone who has said "fuck it" long ago. This doesn't apply just to obesity. I have an acquaintance who continues to go to the tanning bed, despite having multiple skin cancer lesions removed. I just want to shake her; it's so frustrating. In her case, it's just vanity; she can't even chalk it up to addiction like smokers, alcoholics, or even food junkies can.

Ill quit being a bitch now. I'll probably need someone to pay for my new liver one day......

According to a Jacksonville, Florida (it’s always Florida) news station: “Officers said Cedric Webb, 25, was at the Montgomery Correctional Center on the Northside on Friday night when officers searching for contraband told him to lift his shirt.

We are state employees. So hopefully one guy won't cause too much damage to our rates. So far he has managed to stay out of the hospital. He has diabetes of course. It does not stop him from eating whatever he wants. And I think every meal is in a white bread bun. His denial is amazing to me. He is a ticking time bomb.

I remembered another time I saw him using a utensil. lol. He took a can of soup out of his desk drawer for a snack, popped the top and ate it cold straight from the can. For some reason I thought it was really disgusting. But he always looks clean and showered. His clothes always smell freshly laundered. So he does take care of himself. But I don't think he'll be able to walk much longer. He can't stand for more than a minute without bending over to lean on something. He is out of breath just walking across the room. He says he has to sleep on his stomach because he feels like he's drowning if he sleeps on his back. Most of his weight is in his stomach area. When he sits, his stomach is a couple inches from his knees. It's sad. He is sad.

Meryl doesn't even try anymore. She just calls Lanvin and asks for curtains with a belt.~Bitter
Can we interest you in Leann Rimes? She has a nice little cadre of fans you'd probably enjoy.~ Pecan Pie

Poor dude. I'm so cheap (with myself), that I know gastric bypass would work for me if I needed it. I would be so afraid of wasting the money that I would follow doctors' orders to a tee. If I need to drop a few for swimsuit season or something, the best thing I can do is order an expensive diet (medifast or advocare or something.... Not spam! They both suck ). Anyway, they always work because I'm too cheap to cheat.
