I don't think Butt ever said hers could do no wrong! She did say she didn't beat them-me,either. That does not mean you let them run wild by any means.
I have known 2 baby/almost toddlers-not from the same family either-who went thru a scary stage. One(who grew up to be quite nice)would beat his head up against a brick wall if he was twarted. Just smash,smash-until someone snatched him away. And a girl (who I still think is on shaky ground) who used to stiffen her whole body, turning red-over just anything. Scary.

I can see absolutely having to haul a sick kid out--to the doctor and then on to the Pharmacy or store to get something for them. But you get in, you get out.

When I was married my SIL (who was 23 or so) used to have lying-on-the-floor-screaming-tantrams if she didn't get her own way. Totally inappropriate. Her hubby was scared shitless of them... I remember him telling me that he wasn't ready to have kids yet & her mother was pressurising them to have them & his wife was already 3 months pregnant. He just seemed oblivious that she was taking pre-natal vitamins & wasn't drinking raw milk..... I asked my hubby when she was going to tell us she was preggers & he just went "WTF are you talking about" "She's pregnant" "don't be so fucking stupid"..... The baby was a month "immature" and weighed 8-10lbs...... <- this is my shocked face... Oh, BTW yes, they have stock (they were a dairy farm), Me & the MIL knew exactly what was going on, but the menfolk were just oblivious. Fucking idiots. Mind this was the family that had 2 kids that were 11 months apart.....

BTW, I was speaking generally when I said that you "love the kiddies and they can do no wrong". You wouldn't be the butt we all know and love if you weren't champion for the wee ones.

Word. Everybody goes to fucking McDonald's. As long as you're not feeding them every freaking day from there, you'll be fine.

yes, well we're going to have those parents who do that no matter what. BUT on occasion, I've had to take my sick kid with me to pick up medication for a fever or an upset stomach - and no, sick kids are not in the best of moods. On those occasions, it's an in-an-out deal. We aren't casually strolling down every aisle while my kid throws a fit or pukes over the aisles or shits himself. I'm the adult, the control is mine and I know when my kid should be in a store and when he shouldn't.

Sure, that's the logical thing - but when you're a single working mom and the father works as well, 9 times out of 10, it's mommy's responsibility to take the child every fucking where. Trust me.

I really don't understand the shopping while the baby/kid is sick, I understand getting medicine, however my personal experience with that was not a pleasant one. We were in Target, I had a terrible stomach flu, with the worse pains I have ever felt in my life (around age 10-11), and literally threw up wherever we walked around in there..my mom continued shopping/talking on the phone until I did it in front of her. Crap like that I don't understand.
