Oh and the picture is even funnier. He's all snarls and totally looks the part of a child-hating crotchety old man. And a little bit like a Scooby Doo cartoon villain.

Best Post Ever. LMAO!
I have this mental image of a totally ghetto mom letting her child continue to cry just to piss the dude off more...and then going off like a hyena when he followed through with his word. We totally need video.

I tell you, someone hits my kid, and they won't be going to jail, they'll be going to the hospital, I'm not too sure if there is such a procedure as "removeawalmartshoppingcartfromuphisass-ectomy" though.

I'm already on that trip to hell. Years ago, I clipped some kid who was running up and down in the aisle in the movie theater, because he was getting on my nerves. The floor in the theater had carpeting so he didn't get hurt, and he sat his ass down for the rest of the movie. And I still don't feel bad about it.

I work in a daycare and trust me...there are some days where I feel like I could slap a few of the kids' parents!

Pretty much. Kids cry, it's part of the their job description.

His pic says it all! He looks like a grumpy old geezer that doesn't give two shits about going to jail.
I wonder if he slapped her hard. Not that it's funny of course, but damn this thread is full of win.

^^ the report said that although the kid wasn't bruised she has "red marks" on her face, so he slapped her hard enough to leave some sort of hand print - totally inappropriate imo. One should NEVER hit ANY child on its head/face.

Well, I can tell you that most of the books on parenting tell you to ignore any tantrums or hissy fits---otherwise, if you 'give in' you are just feeding the fire and the kid then realizes that he/she can get what they want by doing this same behavior over and over. Obviously, you have to be diligent and hey, it doesn't always work out how 'they' say anyway...
I have two kids, 5 & 2 yrs old and if they were freaking out in a store---I'd haul their asses out of the store pronto. Not fair to other shoppers and frankly, I would be embarrassed by their behavior. If my kids cannot conduct themselves properly in public, then they won't BE in public. Though again, if the kid is sick or something ELSE is going on...that is different. No one wants to hear that shit....

I can't get mad at toddlers for crying. I can, however, get mad at their mothers. I have seen obviously sick kids hauled through grocery stores. They should have been home. And kids past naptime-so tired all they can do is cry. Then the alleged mom is threatening them for acting out,due to her own stupidity! So,there have been quite a few moms that needed swatting,no toddlers.

I know! I have seen babies out with scarlet cheeks-you could see they had fever 10 feet away! What are those moms thinking??

I generally remove my kids from the store if they're ongoing, but with my 20 month old, his tantrums are usually about 30 seconds maximum, so by the time I reach the end of the store, he's usually done, so there's not much point.
I also don't get how slapping a child is supposed to end them from crying. Ummmm, hurting them, usually makes them cry more stupid! Some asshole just lost control and took it out on a two year old. Wow, big man.
