You stated "interracial", ie two different race parents. Clearly, the father isn't white and you were questioning parentage.

I'm not sure if you're familiar with the click to enlarge option.

Dear lord, if a child doesn't resemble a parent in my opinion then who cares?
That's the beauty of it being solely MY opinion. Should I agree with you? Josie looks exactly like her father.

That isn't specifying the mother's gender. She could be white/latin but she isn't the same race as the father. Hence, interracial. I don't see any resemblance between Josie and her father so I asked if that's the biological father. It doesn't really make a difference to me either way, I was curious.

Duh, of course I'm aware of the 'click to enlarge' option. It still isn't big enough to have a good view of their faces.

What a beauitful girl, and I'll agree, from that first and current picture, I wouldnt be able to tell that she was born a boy. Goodluck to her, and I'm glad her parents are supportive.

Both my boys did 'girly' things at a young age, which were neither encouraged or discouraged and they eventually grew out of. To do something this intense, I just hope everyone was VERY sure.

It is great that they've been supportive and willing to adapt, though

*scratches head* What does the mother's gender have to do with her ethnicity?

If the father is latin, yet dark, and the mother is latin, yet fair, aren't they both still latin, hence being of the same race? This complection ridiculousness sounds like the argument many idiots have used when trying to explain their way out of why they made comments insinuating my child can't possibly be mine, I can't be my mother's child, or my siblings and myself can not possibly be related.

There are many latinos and, *gasp*, blacks who look white. Hell, there are whites who look latin or black and cause raised eyebrows when they say they are white. Color lines are blurring more every generation.

She is beautiful regardless. I just hope such a life altering decision at such a young age is not detrimental. Girls and boys test the gender waters as children, but grow up and out of the phase.

We have a child in my daughter's 2nd grade class who is clearly not a 'girl' She wears only boys clothes including jockey shorts, insists on a boy haircut, etc. I wish her all the best.

There are plenty of Latinos who "look white" because they are white. According to official US standards and history, Latino/Hispanic is not a race but a cultural term that groups together various nationalities that share a common history and/or language.

Latino/Hispanic (both of which are Eurocentric terms) Americans, namely those from central and south America, still retain their cultural hertiage regardless of what race they are. In fact, most Latino/Hispanic Americans are mestizos (Indian and white), followed by pure Indians, whites (European descent - Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, even German), mulattos (black and white), black, Sambo (Indian and black), and any other combination of the aforementioned races/ethnicities.

The designation of the Latino/Hispanic label is a broad one that oftens is misunderstood or abused for political reasons.

I'm aware of the differentiations. (Not being snotty in saying that, I realize it sounds that way). That was basically my point, Lations/Hispanics, etc. don't have one particular "look" same as others.

My Puerto Rican husband is a perfect example, blonde haired and green eyed. He's "whiter" than me, and I'm 100% Irish.
