The story is horrible and I feel for the woman but really, I was in a grocery store in Sweden today and saw her face on the front page of the newspaper. I know she needs to make money, etc but it seems like she's selling her story all over the world. Maybe that's what you need to do but then again, why?

I agree with you, and, in fact, that is exactly how I feel when any person the victim of any crime, one of their first things on the 'to do' list is to start selling their stories to the media and the world. We see it a lot in the stories posted here.

After what she's been through, she's entitled to make a little lemonade. If I were her, I'd be selling my story to whoever would buy it to raise money for either a safe house and a shotgun for when this guy is released, or maybe a nice life in a remote paradise where he'd never know.

I see her telling her story as a warning to other women. She is incredibly brave to tell everyone how foolish she was, and i have no doubt that she knows she made a mistake by trusting that man. We all make mistakes, hers just happened to be a very very bad one.

I'm watching a documentary about this girl right now. She is really a sweet girl and considering what she's been through she is remarkably good humoured about it all. Good luck to her, what happened was horrific.

The poor girl in the above situation probably has gotten so used to making 'sacrafices of love' for this dude that now if she lets it go she may feel as if she has nothing. She probably is behaving in this way now because she's blinded by her hopes, and she thinks that if her attacker sees how much she suffers for him, and maybe if she saves him, he will be humbled and see her as a person. She thinks then maybe she will be treated the way she deserves through showing mercy, forgiveness.
Chances are he'll be nice and apollogetic for a little bit, then he'll just go back to the old ways, she'll be left thinking "Maybe I can try harder" poor girl is too far along, it'll only end if he kills her or he doesn't want her anymore.

Unfortunately there are too many mixed messages in dealing with relationships to get this kind of help, and the victim never believes they're in an "abusive" relationship, instead they believe that somehow she is the antagonist.

Anyway, I wish they would make a law for battered women that when they're attacked (face slashing for example) they are to be held for one month in some psychiatric hospital.

I'm glad to see that the woman in the topic at hand is still alive even though she took some dammage, she's such a stronger person for it. I think regardless of her appearence she'll find love and have the family etc that she wants when she finds someone as strong as her.
