I was surprised he got that long. Some people don't even get that for murder here. But I agree, he should never get out. Neither of them should.

What's even sadder and more infuriating is that this is a fairly common type of attack. There was a famous attack like this in New York around 1957, I think, where a woman had acid thrown in her face by a guy hired by her jealous boyfriend. The jealous boyfriend was a married rich guy. Eventually (when he got out of jail), he divorced his wife and married the woman he disfigured. They've been married for about 30 years, I think. It's documented in a Sundance documentary called "Crazy Love" (I think).

Also, I heard that its somewhat common in Pakistani culture for certain guys to throw acid in the faces of women who reject them.

Yes, they were locally famous in NY for years before 'Crazy Love'. It's a sick story. She was blinded in the attack.

Those comments can make your skin crawl. Almost to the end of these mostly scummy posts (who reads that trash anyway) there is a post by miss december. No,really.

This story is just atrocious, i hope this poor girl manages to have some semblance of a good life in the future. She deserves it after this.

We've had a case going on here in NY, where a state senator- Hiram Monserrate- slashed his girlfriend's face with a glass and dragged her through a building lobby, some of the attack was caught on videotape.

He was acquitted this week of the slashing, found guilty of misdemeanor assault, and now the girlfriend wants the order of protection against him lifted. She's been giving interviews where she blames the police for harrassing her to get her to charge him in the slashing.
