Thank you! Quite honestly, it's not as bad as we've had in the past. There have been Nor'easters that have literally swamped family members' homes to nearly the roof. The cousin's house in the one photo was once so bad they had to rebuild it almost entirely.

I'm starting to see some pics on FB of the area that are really scary, people letting their kids swim. Granted, when you grow up in my area you generally can swim before you can walk. But with all this water everywhere riptides area big concern. Most people don't know what to do when stuck in a ripetide.

We lost power yesterday morning and got it back sometime over night last night. Some flooding and trees down but otherwise, everything seems ok.

Charmed those pictures are scary. Hope everything works out as best as it can for all of you.

The river behind our house flooded over and came up to our backyard but not into our house. Our neighbors weren't so lucky. Amazingly through all of this we only lost power for 5 minutes. We were extremely lucky.

Riptides and dirty water too. I saw a pic of a woman with her three school-aged kids in a rowboat. They didn't need to be in the boat for any reason; she just wanted them to see the flood. What a dumbass.

Glad everyone on the board appears safe and none worse for the wear.

I just realized that my whole town except for a 1/2 mile square area has been out of power since Sunday @ 6 AM. We have power because we're on the same grid as the hospital - feel so lucky. Can't go to work today but at least I have power and internet.

I'm heart sick. It survived the earthquake but not the hurricane.

People need to stay indoors and out of floodwaters. Many of these deaths didn't need to happen. The Associated Press: Hurricane Irene blamed for at least 35 deaths

There were 2 deaths here. In the case in NJ it was a 20 yo girl who decided to go to her boyfriends house in the middle of the hurricane. Her car was washed off the road and 80 feet into the woods. She made a 911 call and the NJ Police risks their lives to find her and save her but couldn't. Then there was a case here in Chester Co PA with a 68 yo woman. I am not sure why she was out driving.

Some people just don't listen!! Next time we get hit you need to send a facebook message to our local news station. They spent hours of the storm just reading the FB messages and tweets that people kept sending them.
