He needs to get away from all the press and his family. He needs to be in some sort of transitional housing with support. This will not end well. He cannot begin to mend fences with family until he has gotten his shit together.

Yes. He should take the offer that the Today offered therapy for him. Go away, get the therapy and do his work quietly and get it together.
I understand that he owes back child support but it seems that they're all ganging up on him at once. and no way in hell is that going to help him stay clean. Seems that some of them want a piece of his fame. Dr. Phil too.
Everybody loves a feel good story but some want to tear them down too.

Hmm, the "feel good" part of this story didn't last long....

Ted and his daughter got into it so loudly
But, did he use his "announcer voice"??

Golden-Voiced Ted Williams Entering Rehab, Says Dr. Phil

    By Dahvi Shira
    Wednesday January 12, 2011 04:05 PM EST

Ted Williams, on Jan. 6 Today show

The happy ending may have to wait.

Ted Williams, the golden-voiced homeless man discovered last week, became an overnight sensation and scored a job offer to get him off the streets.

But following a police-involved confrontation with his recently reunited daughter on Monday night in Los Angeles, Williams may be headed for rehab.

A rep for Dr. Phil McGraw, who has Williams on his show this week, tells PEOPLE the talk show host convinced Williams to get treatment for drug and alcohol abuse after a "lengthy one-on-one conversation."

"If Ted is ever going to get better, he's got to be honest with himself and admit he's addicted to drugs and alcohol, says McGraw. "I've told him it's not going to be easy and it's going to take a lot of hard work. It might be a long journey for him, but this is a big step in the right direction."

This decision comes shortly after Williams, 53, admits on the syndicated Dr. Phil show in an episode airing Wednesday that he is still drinking.

I mean, it's nice and all but there's tons of homeless people out there.

'Golden Voice' Ted Williams Bails on Rehab

1/24/2011 12:00 PM PST by TMZ Staff

Ted Williams -- the homeless man with the "Golden Voice" -- has left rehab against medical advice, less than two weeks after checking in for drug and alcohol dependency ... TMZ has learned.

Our sources say Ted -- who decided to go to rehab earlier this month after a taping of the Dr. Phil show -- left the Origins Recovery Center in South Texas moments ago and is on his way to the airport.

Ted's girlfriend is currently in rehab at the Safe Harbor facility in Costa Mesa, California.

    Story developing...

    I predict a not-so-happy ending to this.

Let him go. He's a loser. Booze and drugs over life, won't accept help? Then go back to your old life

He's an addict - I don't think he's "choosing" anything. I don't think this will end well, but I feel compassion for him.
