Yeah, I bet now she is going to say she didn't know her husband raped her daughter for 7 years before she "disappeared." I wonder if he had other daughters he was raping too.

I don't believe that shit at all. If my husband was raping my daughter, as a mother, I WOULD KNOW.

One of my grandmother's sister was a mother of 6 children. 4 of her daughters were raped for years by her husband. She claims she had no clue. All her children believe she knew and never did anything about it. I feel mothers like this are just as guilty as the rapists.

Out of all the people in the world, your mother should be the one protecting you. How sad.

^^I don't agree you would know. Anyone remember the woman who only found out her husband was raping her daughter when he accidentally left a video he had made of one of his assaults in the video player? She ahdn't a fucking clue...took the tape straight to the coppers and had him put away.

^ IMO many mothers would know. I would know if my daughter started acting different, I would see if she became withdrawn from school/social settings/friends, I would notice if she became depressed, I would notice if she acted different around her father. I would know if she was acting out because something bad was happening to her.

What I am saying is that I believe I would know if something was off. And I would find out what the fuck was going on.

The people I know that were molested/raped as children showed signs that something horrible was going on. Kids' personalities sometimes do a 180 when sexual abuse is happening.

As if this story wasn't horrible enough - he faces up to 15 years in prison????? Although he is already in his 70's and would probably die in prison anyway after 15 years - this is appalling that he wouldn't get anything less than life! What an insult to his victims.

I think that perhaps if the mother didn't know... she may have had issues of her own. Now I don't say this because she's a woman, I say this because how can you truly not know that there is another presence in your home, and that it is highly unusual your grandchildren are arriving at your house and grandaddy is always finding them?

Either she was completely oblivious, or she did know but repressed it somehow, OR she is just as sick as he is.

Agree. If he's charged with MURDER due to a failure to act in relation to the dead baby, he could get....wait for it.....20 years. Most of Europe is this way, at least I know it is in the UK and the max sentence in the Scandinavian countries is also 20 years. Sorry but that's pathetic.

Depends on which Scandinavian country...SWeden has a life max of 16 years but you're in for a max of 9. The max is rarely given, by the way. Interestingly, Scandinavia has a very low crime rate which gives one food for thought about crime and punishment.
