I know some cultures in Asia and Africa eat bugs, but IIRC, they cook them first. There is a species (or more than one?) of waterbug that is considered edible.

I thought wild-caught roaches had less PCB's then farm-raised ones?

Or am I thinking of salmon?

I wanna know if he chewed them or swallowed them whole. And if he chewed, did he have to floss their little spiky legs out of his teeth. Ewww, just grossed myself out.

well, since he died after vomitting some of them up, I'm guessing there were still some legs and shit in his teefs... but it's florida, he may not have even had teefs!

I will have to agree with you to a point here. Before I moved to the Keys from Ft lauderdale, everyone I knew had teeth. But man, I've not seen so many toothless people in my life since living here.

I sure hope he chewed. You are only supposed to swallow soft-shell roaches without chewing.

^^Hmmm, I've never heard that, have to ask Miss Manners. But as long as there was lots of drawn butter to dip them in, I'm sure they slid right down his throat regardless.
