Looking at the state of those smashed cars its a wonder anyone survived, let alone ran away. The baby will be embraced by his family (Hasids have HUGE families) and the wider community. He's been orphaned but there's no way social services will have to get involved so that's a small mercy at least.

Right or wrong, I don't have a problem with calling the person who did this a murderer. From what I've heard on the news, the BMW was likely going at an excessive speed and recklessly driving. To me, that's not an accident. That's as good as going out and shooting a gun into a crowd.

I just saw on the news that the baby died. Really sad about this.

They will catch the people in the BMW. They'll check the local hospitals because they have to be pretty badly injured by the looks of the car. How can you just run away from something like this? Physically and mentally?

This story makes me sick. I'm really sad to hear the baby didn't make it either. The poor families.

I'm more than willing to bet alcohol was involved and that is how they ran from the scene of a horrible accident. Just hope they catch them soon.

what's BS? she didn't feel well so they were going to the hospital to get her checked out, which is explained in the article.

That's somehow not the point of the story to me. And why would that be BS? I don't follow where this is going.

Maybe she thought they meant a scheduled checkup, but I agree, not really the point.

Poor little family but I think A*O is right, they weren't wearing seat belts, or at least the wife wasn't.

The article says the wife wasn't feeling well so they made the decision to go to the hospital to get checked over at I'm assuming the ER not a normal appointment with her OBGYN .

I had to go to the hospital when I was 7 months pregnant (or something like that) for a "wellness check". It was at in the evening, past dinnertime. My doctor felt that what I was experiencing could possibly be something serious. 2 hours later, they released me. It happens.
