i see what you mean but there has to be some advantage to being the ones that get stuck with the pregnancy. if men could get pregnant too i'd be more than happy to give them more say during the pregnancy but until they can, it's the woman's body, her choice.

Exactly, I do feel bad for the men who really want the baby...but they aren't the ones being pregnant for 9 months and giving birth or ending up having a c-section.

If men & women are truly equal, they should both have EQUAL rights when it comes to procreation.

The problem is that someone's got to pay for the kid once it's born. And it's either going to be the father or the tax payer.

That's an impossibility as it's only women who can get pregnant. Take it up with nature. Men and women have equal procreational rights up to the point where ejaculation occurs. After that it's the woman's body that has to bear the burden of pregnancy, so she gets to decide.

I think alot of it comes from the fact that you know 100% a woman is a biological parent to the child, whereas you can't guarentee that same certainty to a man.

In this instance we are not equal. We (women) must carry the children....men can't. Therefore it's our decision and ours alone.

Fair enough. When science progresses to the point where they can keep the baby in a jar, more power to them. Until that point they should shut the fuck up. And if they don't want children they should cover it up or get snipped. It's that simple. Nature screwed us over and now I'm supposed to feel sorry for men? Not happening.

Exactly. Keep it covered if you don't want your girlfriend/wife to get pregnant.

He told her he would pay for absolutely everything, even give her extra money for time off of work, everything taken care of, and she never had to see them again. He wanted to raise that child. It got tied up in the court system. The verdict was passed down and she quickly had an abortion.
No amount of money or emotional support in the world can get him to carry a child and deliver it for her. If she becomes ill with a pregnancy related illness, he will not be the one hospitalized or on bedrest no matter how good his intentions are.
I sympathize with the plight of a man who is going to be a father when he doesn't want to be. However, giving him the right to 'opt out' will result in many women resorting to welfare, meaning everyone else has to pay for his DNA replicant, and I sure as hell didn't fuck her, so that should not be me.
