Whilst I think it's a clever idea, I always wonder who these sort of adverts are aimed at..people who use violence as a means to an end are not going to suddenly think 'oh ok I won't beat my spouse because the poster told me to', and people who are disturbed by it are generally not going to beat people up. I understand it is raising awareness but to what end? Sadly you are never going to stop people beating the crap out of each other.
I think it sends a message that a couple may look happy and loving to many people, but that is often a facade.
I worked with a girl who outwardly had a wonderful, happy marriage. I was shocked to discover that her husband was beating the crap out of her. Looking back, there were signs and symptoms, but I thought domestic violence victims looked bruised and abused all of the time. This ad is an excellent example of how everything can look fine, but things can be very different behind closed doors.
