It doesn't matter how she treated them, they chose to be in the business of selling medication to, not only the general public which are crazy enough, but to people who have mental disorders. They should EXPECT some erratic behavior now & then. If it's too much for them, they should get different jobs.

If she tended to become erratic at checkout, they should have written it in a professional manner so as to caution the employee. Walgreens' system is a medical record keeping system, and it appears that it's not terribly confidential. They could think whatever they wanted, and say whatever they wanted privately, but they shouldn't have written that.

She has every right to have her medications kept confidential. I work in mental health, and I would totally expect to be sued if I let something like that happen. It doesn't mean I'm above thinking someone is crazy now & then, but what idiot writes it in an online record-keeping sytem where thousands of people see it?

I know lawsuits are overdone, but this woman, who already has an anxiety disorder (which is very real & difficult to understand if you don't have it), feels like she is being ridiculed by a part of her treatment team, her pharmacist. I think Walgreens needs to be spanked, whether she's devastated or not. You simply cannot screw with Hippa.

Well done! I agree with you totally. Even today there is a certain stigma attached to taking antidepressents and other drugs for mental disorders....

There definitely is, and Lobelia is right on the money, so to speak, about this case. The woman may be greedy, but she does have a point.

And just for the record: I had my own experience on this board with someone using something I'd posted, then deleted, to smear me on another. And someone else on the same board then used it again in a similar manner. Lesson learned: never post anything you don't want to be public knowledge, whatever it may be, stigma or no stigma. Even if you trust your fellow board members, you don't know who may be lurking.

That's great! Seriously though, if I were THAT paranoid or it really was that big a problem I could think of so many things I'd try first. Why not order your meds online? Have someone else pick up your meds? Try another pharmacy? Or even ask your doc/therapist for suggestions? Something is fishy about this whole thing. At first glance it was outrageous and I thought that if this is true (even the lady was being a pain) that they were wrong for that. But I can totally see this as something that's being blown out of proportion now that I've thought about it some more. I've seen and known a lot of people capable of this.

Ummm....so this woman is devastated that the Walgreen's employees supposedly mentioned her drugs aloud, plus wrote notes that she is crazy, but yet she is commenting publicly, for ALL of us to know???

Ahhhh, let the money take away ALL the pain...

MonkeyMix, I'm sorry if I sounded condescending to you. I didn't mean to.

However, I also get my meds at Walgreens, and they are LOUD. It makes me cringe for some people. One lady was getting herpes medicine.

(JOHN CLEESE) Right. I've got some of your prescriptions here. Er, who's got the pox? (nobody reacts) ... Come on, who's got the pox ... come on... (a man timidly puts his hand up) . .. there you go. (throws bottle to the man with his hand up) Who's got a boil on the bum... boil on the botty. (throws bottle to the only man standing up) Who's got the chest rash? (a woman with a large bosom puts up hand) Have to get a bigger bottle. Who's got wind? (throws bottle to a man sitting on his own) Catch.
