THe vomit theory is the first i thought,could me true,then the child could have a bad fall or wondered around,god knows what happened.
For 3 months the money is pouring in at all those funds to help find the kid.
Maybe that is why the parents keep the child and the story alive.
I am sorry to think that way,but i couldnt sympathise with them from the first time i ve head about it.
Something was and is very wrong.

One possibility is a botched burglary, in which thieves panicked and tried to silence Madeleine. But Mr McCann said: "This is wild speculation.
"The police have always said to us they are taking all possible scenarios into consideration. For us, nothing has changed in the last two weeks.
"There is a very real possibility Madeleine is alive and we want the police to look for her."

How can he be so sure it is wild speculation unless he knows something.
I don't know what their role is, but something isn't right...and yes, it is a lot like the JonBonet case...

If these parents were 'normal' they'd have done the initial press conference, public appeal, etc and then gone home to take care of their other 2 kids while the investigators got on with the job of finding their daughter. They wouldn't launch a multi-million dollar appeal (what's all this money FOR?), visit the Pope, pimp themselves all over the media at every opportunity and never for one minute show the anger, grief, distress, etc you'd expect in a situation like this.

Reminds me of a case here a couple of years ago when a bloke went on a media campaign to find his 'missing' pregnant wife and 3yr old daughter. He was all over the media begging for information, etc etc, and lo and behold it turned out he'd murdered all 3 of them with a speargun (!!) and buried them in the local garbage dump.

There's an ongoing trial here at the moment of a sick fuck who's accused of driving his car into a dam with his 3 young sons strapped in the back and drowning them so his estranged wife "would always remember Fathers Day".

And because it's a cute, blonde and blue-eyed little girl. Maybe it's just in my mind, but many cases seem to get a lot more attention when the victim, regardless of age, is considered attractive. ("Oh, what a tragedy she died, she was so pretty!") As if being attractive made their deaths all the more terrible. That's just my opinion!

I didn't want to say it, but that's what I've been thinking all along. It's always " What a shame! She was soooo pretty, soooo popular, sooooo smart! The perfect girl next door". As if to say ugly dumb loners can disappear and nobody will care.

I've seen reports on stuff like this ever since Lacey Peterson went missing. There were quite a few stories about the disparity of press coverage given to white vs. minority group missing persons. It's one of those things that is sad but true.

Another thing I noticed years ago when I used to read real life crime novels is that the authors tend to attribute more attractive physical qualities to white serial killers than they do to minorities, even if the qualities are nowhere near true. Like Ann Rice always described white guys as "handsome" or the like and minorities were always "imposing" or something. Anyone else ever notice that or am I imagining things?

Not coming to his defense, but didn't they also darken O.J.'s cover picture
on Time Magazine I think it was, once he was arrested, after that slow mo
car chase?

In this story I think A*O touched on some serious points: both
parents are physicians/specialists. How bad does it look (for their
future practices) if THEIR (medical) negligence lead to their
daughter's death? I so hope they have nothing to do with it, but
- although everybody reacts differently under stress and grief -
I just cannot feel for them for no particular reason.....
