Boy, does this look like it's going to be a juicy story, and apparently, the problem was not just the affair. The latest seems to be that:

    1. It didn't originate with Petraeus. Another woman was complaining about harrassing/threatening emails sent by Broadwell to another woman..

    2. The FBI traced the threats to Broadwell, then discovered the emails between Broadwell and Petraeus.

    3. The FBI also appears to be looking into whether Petraeus' laptop was compromised, and whether an outside party (Broadwell?) had access to his email.

The New York Times is denying the letters to its ethicist were sent by Broadwell's husband.

Honestly with all of the media blitz over this I was expecting the affair to be with an underaged male spy... I'm not buying this excuse either. Clinton lied repeatedly about his affair & cost the US a shitload of money over it, Edwards had an affair while his wife was dying & produced a child... this doesn't pass the smell test for me.

There is ample proof. All over the place. If he was not Super Sluth it wouldn't be such a big deal. He is and it is. He was wide open to blackmail, extortion and who knows what else.
What he did differently from Clinton & Edards is to fall on his sword immediately rather that discuss the definition of "is" and lie through his teeth.

I understand his position, but to me Clinton would have also been privy to private information (I'd imagine any President would) & she was an aid... I can appreciate him coming forward, but has it come out how long this has been going on?
Obviously at least long enough for her husband to suspect, find out, & write a letter to a paper about it... I'd imagine all his fellow super sleuths would have also known about the affair & didnt think it was THAT much of a compromise of information. Just... questionable timing.

I went to check out some other sources, one I read on Yahoo (I know I know) & read the comments... One asked if the other person was Linda Tripp & several compared it to the crazy astronaut lady who drove in a diaper to presumably kill the other woman.

Broadwell has a husband. However, she was having an affair with Petreous who is also married. Broadwell became jealous and started emailing another woman about what she wanted with Petreous...
