His arrogance will be his downfall. In the middle of all of this, he was asking for donations of $500-1000 from members to help with expansion plans. WTF? There was an "investor" who reportedly bilked millions of dollars from members last year, so on top of the scandal, that story was big news.

I heard that many members walked out when he announced the settlement during service.

There are plenty of pimps, snakes, and swindlers in the pulpits of Metro Atlanta that will be more than happy to take in former New Birthers.

There are still a ton of brainwashed members who go around saying "I love Bishop and I'm going to support him no matter what!". As Cadillac Kimberly said in that hilarious video, a lot of those New Birth people are special.

Word on the street is that the settlement was allegedly $25 MILLION, not the $15 Million as originally reported.

Also, Eddie Long's wife supposedly moved out of their house this past weekend, but there have been rumors that she left him years ago and only showed up with him for public appearances and to keep up the family image.

I've fooled around with two men of the cloth, one a black Baptist preacher, the other a German-American Catholic priest. What got me during the amount of time I spent with them was the amount of self-loathing they felt, palpable even to a naive young man such as myself back then.

    I'm not surprised at all.

One of Donnie McClurkin's lovers was interviewed in a blog and said the same thing about him.

McClurkin is twisted; he was on the covers of EBONY and JET talking about his "sex addiction" and being molested as a teen, but not one word on WHO he was sleeping with.

And it's been said before about the Baptist church, half of the men in the choirs are flaming queens. That is where our fabulous Sylvester came from.

Damn, the FIFTH accuser was found?! Who had Eddie Long's name tatooed on his wrist?! Driving in a limo with his settlement money?! Oh Lawd Baby!

Eddie Long's 5th Accuser has Eddie's name tattoo'd on his wrist:

Bishop Eddie Long Had Fifth Accuser in Sexual Misconduct Lawsuit

    FOX 5 I-Team exclusive report

Updated: Wednesday, 27 Jul 2011, 5:58 PM EDT

    Published : Wednesday, 27 Jul 2011, 5:58 PM EDTBy DALE RUSSELL/myfoxatlanta
ATLANTA, Ga. - The FOX 5 I-Team has uncovered that there was a fifth accuser in the Bishop Eddie Long sexual misconduct case. He never filed a lawsuit and his name was kept a secret, but Centino Kemp's allegations of sexual misconduct against Bishop Long brought him front and center into the recent settlement negotiations.

Senior I-Team reporter Dale Russell has crisscrossed the city of Atlanta searching for the mysterious fifth young man. Centino Kemp, sometimes called Centinio, is young-- barely 22. We're told he met Bishop Long years ago. He has Long's name tattooed on his wrist, and he is currently recording songs written from the perspective of an angry lover.
For nearly two months, Russell searched all over Atlanta for Centino Kemp, and finally caught up with him leaving this small recording studio. He was happy to talk about his music. But he didn't want to talk about anything else.
The well-known sex scandal involving Bishop Eddie Long, began when four young men, all former members of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, filed suit accusing the bishop of lavishing money, trips and gifts on the young adult s, while having sexual contact with them.
The case was finally settled in secret back in May. Sources tell us an undisclosed amount of money was paid to the young men. Bishop Long, in court papers, denied the allegations and later issued a statement saying it was time to move forward.
Now, the I-Team has learned that after the initial lawsuits were filed , Centino Kemp came forward with similar allegations of sexual misconduct against Bishop Long. Our sources say he became involved in the settlement talks. He was the mystery man. Though his name was never made public, the I-Team has learned he may have played a significant role in the mediation.
Our source says Kemp has been taking part in countless $100 an hour sessions in Atlanta recording studios for the past two months.
Some are profanity-laced, sexually-charged stories of angry, jilted lovers, like Kemp’s song titled Pornography.
According to various social media posts, Centino Kemp is 22 years old, single, tattooed, and always sporting different looks. He tweets openly of gay rights, and dreams of taking the recording world by storm.

One source says Centino Kemp, who was raised in the Bahamas, met Bishop Eddie Long years ago during a visit to New Birth while he was a teenage student in a Florida college. The relationship meant enough for him to tattoo Eddie Long's name on his wrist, followed by the words, “Never a Mistake, Always a Lesson.”
Sources say Kemp joined in the settlement talks after he heard about the other young men's lawsuits and though he never sued, he became a part of the final settlement.
One lawyer familiar with the case confirmed Kemp was involved and was "different from the other young men," "one piece of the puzzle that never fit," and he made the case "more difficult."
Bishop Eddie Long had no comment about Centino Kemp. And Centino Kemp had nothing to say about the bishop. After walking away from our question, he later sprinted to an awaiting stretch limousine. The secret accuser in the Bishop Long sex scandal, drove off, still a mystery, still dreaming of stardom.

^I was reading somewhere he has lost a lot of his congregation. I don't
think he will ever be able to have the kind of influence he used to have and
hopefully the media coverage of this will make it impossible for him to
    do this again.
I can't believe there are still people out there defending his BS.

LMAO, I know, right? Their Jheri-curl wearing husbands wearing cheap-assed polyester suits from D&K's Steve Harvey Collection blowout sale.

The only thing that might make this different is the circumstances behind the story and Centino's appearance. He wasn't a part of the original suit and Long quickly settled when he came into the picture. He was the smoking gun, so to speak.

Also, a lot of southern church folks are the types to associate all gay men with being effiminate and flamboyant, i.e., the fifth accuser. The other plaintiffs in the suit were more "manly" in appearance and claim they're straight, so there was a lot of disbelief and disconnect with people. But you have a makeup-wearing man with his "hair did" (homeboy's hair is laid, but he needs to shave his beard more or invest in electrolysis with his settlement money before he starts shellacking the foundation on...), so a lot of those folks who were in disbelief may be a bit more apt to pause and sideye. I mean, hello, he has a tattoo of Eddie Long's name on his arm, these folks better wake the fuck up! But given the type of power he exerts over his kool-aid drinking flock, he'll still have his more devoted patsies riding on his sinking ship. I will say the crowds at his church have shrunken significantly since the settlement was announced a few months ago.

So true. Driving in their Grand Marquis and DeVilles and shit.

The mind boggles at the level of influence and power we give the clergy in our community. The church was once a source of strength, but I dunno, it seems to have served its purpose. Now the black churches seem to be run by hypocrites and snake oil salesmen.

My brother is an agnostic, and I've been questioning a lot of things myself lately. He informed us that the version of Chrisianity that blacks in America follow is nothing more than mental enslavement. Yeah, that went over well with folks in our family, LOL... He's not a militant, BTW. I know I've always been one to question things, not take things at face value, and I know that pastors are regular people, so I'm cynical and disillusioned about a lot of things in the black church.

It's totally mental enslavement; I agree with your brother. Christianity was used as a tool to keep us oppressed and brainwashed in the US. I reject the idea of God as defined by Western standards. I believe in a higher power, but to me, the Bible is a bunch of fairy tales and fables. And majorly contradictory.

The problem is that religious texts are read as truth/fact rather than mythology, which is what all of it really is. There might be some true messages hidden in there, but c'mon, just come the fuck on. So this fire and brimstone fear-based faith bullshit really pisses me off. And then you add all the hypocrisy on top of it, and just... ugh. No.
