I'm not so sure about this one. Part of me thinks that there really is nothing to do but possibly go after these shitbags for harrassing this girl. Being mean isn't a crime....but perhaps this woman needs a mental evaluation. Considering she knew this teen prior to her death and probably knew that she was vulnerable and had some problems in the past. She certainly doesn't seem like a fit parent to me. Any adult who goes that far to damage a kid, whether she thought the end result would be suicide or not, needs to be called out. I certainly wouldn't want to associate with someone who did that, nor would I want my children to be around them.

This Drew woman, the Ashley chick and the Drew's own daughter are all worthless. I wish nothing but the worst life has to offer them.

I think that threats of harm should be illegal regardless of how they are made.

crumpet, I can't tell from your post which poster you are quoting, but I couldn't disagree more with the quote. I do agree, however, with your response.

Sweetie, THIS particular 13 year old WAS fragile, and the Drews knew that. They had communicated enough with her mom to know that she suffered from severe depression and ADD and was medicated. To know that and then tell someone the world is better off without them, is unbelievably cruel. I almost think this was the end result she hoped for. And what makes it all worse is that this is an adult telling this to a child. I have had friends who are much older than Megan who have suffered from depression. If someone had told them something so cruel, I have no doubt it would have pushed them over the edge. Its not about weakness, depression is a chemical brain disorder. And as a 13 year old, if a guy I liked told me such cruel things, and then spread my PMs to all my friends so there was practically a lynch mob in school against me, I would feel suicidal too. Everything at that age is magnified so much more, its like you never look into the future at such a young age and feel like things will get better. Its so sad.
Someone on another thread talked about Jack Kevorkian and assisted suicide, basically that he gave the tools to others so they could commit suicide. How is this different? I mean, they basically assisted in her suicide. Yes, she made the ultimate decision herself, but its like offering a loaded gun to a mentally ill person. Thats whats so crazy about it.

That's a good post, as usual.
However, the Jack Kevorkian analogy from another site is a very poor one. Jack Kevorkian assisted people who were terminally ill who wanted to have the option to die. Megan did not fall into that category.

I absolutely agree, I'm just saying that in Megan's case, it is a bit like an assisted suicide in theory. I believe she was severely depressed and was given the ammunition to commit suicide by people who knew she was depressed. I think even a well-adjusted 13 year old would find something like this devastating. Its not just being called names, its knowing that confidential stuff you told someone that you trusted regarding others was given to those people, and to know that you are ostracized and hated because of it, and that a lynch mob has formed against you. Its forming a relationship after you lost weight and were feeling better about yourself, and having that person tell you what a fat bitch and slut you are out of the blue, and posting myspace bulletins so everyone can make fun of you. I know that if I had been ostracized at such a young age and bullied by everyone because of this one person, I would have been horribly depressed. Hell, I would have been depressed just if I had lost a significant amount of weight, was feeling better, and someone told me what a fat bitch I was. And I think this was made even worse by her feeling like her parents were not on her side, since her mother was upset at the language she had used in these emails instead of what the bigger picture was. I'm sure she felt completely alone. I think its far too simplistic to say she should have just gotten over it.

For the Kevorkian analogy -- talking to someone is not like giving them a loaded gun. However, if she wanted to die (as Kevorkian's patients did), then she got what she wanted.

Screwing with someone's head (particularly someone so young) who is clinically depressed, calling them names, starting bulletins about them on myspace, ostracizing them from their peer group, pretending to be someone who cares about them and then backpedals....that is giving them a loaded gun. Could you really imagine anything worse at that age? I remember the few rumors that were spread about me in high school, and they hurt at that time. And it was nowhere near this caliber, and I wasn't anywhere near depressed.

Gems from the St. Louis Craigslist pages:
"Lori is an angry unhappy woman. I have been sleeping with her husband for over a year and a half now, he can't stand that cunt of a wife either. He will most likely leave her soon. He is better than she is. I knew he was married to her and didn't care, and now I am glad that I have been with him and hope it inflicts some pain on her. Lori needs to be in a psycho hospital, her own husband said so. Lori you are a bitch. Even Curt Drew told me that Sarah and the wife was jealous of Megan bc Megan was soooo much cuter then they could ever be..hahaha how sad huh."
Mob power:
"There is going to be a rally of sort in front of the Drews on Sat Nov. 24. Address is 269 Waterford Crystal, 63368.
Lori runs a small flyer ad biz and about half of her clients have already dropped them. Drew Ad Vantage.
Curt evidently works at Burlington Coat Factory. Anyone know which one?
Curt's page on Coldwell Banker website has been taken down. He didn't have any listings so maybe Coldwell dropped him."
