Re: Fortune 100-Best Companies to work for in 2006
^^Way to go!
I applied to #37, American Express, they called me for an interview, but by then I already got hired at one of Canada's Best 50 companies to work for (BTI Canada). I heard many awful things about AMEX from friends in the industry--because they're such a huge corp, they treat you like a number, and because it's a worldwide company, open 24/7, you work all sorts of crazy shifts and don't think about holidays off--you're working through them all, too!

I'm glad to see that none of our debauched, thieving airlines
are on the list.

37 American Express
I wonder what interest rate these sharks charge on your
standard issue gold card.
96 IKEA (U.S.)
The triumph of convenience over grace.
99 Marriott International
We now have some openings in bomb-laden Jakarta Branch...
100 Nike
If you lose your finger on a slicing machine while making shoes for
these people (in one of their now-closed Indonesian factories),
they will give you $20 (that's 20 days pay),
your finger (in a plastic bag) and send you home.

There is no interest on AMEX gold cards. You pay in full each month and if you miss one or two payments, they take the sucker away.
As far as any of these companies...well, fuck 'em all. Start a business and make your own way in the world instead of enriching some asshole who would run you over with his/her SUV without a second thought.
