Unhappy Husband, wife die within 24 hours of each other

Husband, Wife Die Within 24-Hours Of Each Other

They were married for 65 years and in the end, Jerry Aten couldn't last a day without his wife Marilyn.

She died last month at home in bed of gastric cancer. Jerry tried to give her one last kiss, but he couldn't get out of his wheelchair. He held her hand, laid his head on her bed, and cried.

He died 23 hours later of cardiopulmonary arrest.

Jerry, 89, and Marilyn, 85, met on a blind date. He was a Michigan farm boy stationed with the Army in Northern California.

She was a small-town California girl who called him "Honey."

The were married 65 years ago in April.

Doctors said it's not uncommon for the death of one elderly spouse to make the other feel more at peace with dying.

The couple had one son, David, 61.
    so sad and touching........

    true love
All of God's children are not beautiful. Most of God's children are, in fact, barely presentable.

Very sad, these sort of things always make me cry. Reminds me of The Notebook; I was a mess at the end, I cried and cried.

I just think it's so romantic that their love and bond is so strong that they literally cannot live without each other.

I remember my dad always said that if my mom passed away first, he wanted to be no less than 1 day behind her. He loved spending every day with her that much...He passed away already, but my mom is keeping strong. Don't know what I would have done without her, even though a day doesn't pass that I don't miss him.
You were lucky to have me. But you know what? I think I already got the best part of you. And she's standing right out there. I don't know... what's left just doesn't look so good anymore. Hope Floats

Touching and beautiful. We should all be so lucky.

Next door there's an old man who lived to his nineties
And one day passed away in his sleep
And his wife; she stayed for a couple of days
    And passed away

I'm sorry, I know that's a strange way to tell you that I know we belong
    That I know

    That I am
    I am

I think some people die literally of a broken heart. It's very sad for those left behind but it's probably meant to be.

When you lose someone who is important to you...you lose a part of yourself and of your heart... when your old, and the love of your life dies, the person you've spent every day with since you can remember...you lose don't want to live anymore...because they are so important and without them you are lost. What is life without those who you love?
