Parents face child endangerment charges after kids found drugged
From NBC12 News
Louisa County authorities say a man and a woman face child endangerment charges after a relative found their toddler sons intoxicated on cocaine.
Sheriff's Department Maj. Donald Lowe said yesterday that an aunt took the 3-year-old and 16-month-old boys to a hospital Wednesday when she noticed they were drowsy and seemed intoxicated.
Police later apprehended Derrick Andre Christmas, 25, outside the Gordonsville home where the children live with their mother. Lowe said Christmas had with him crack cocaine, marijuana and about $1,600 in cash.
Christmas, who lives in the Zion Crossroads area, was charged with two felony drug distribution counts and two child endangerment counts. The children's mother, Brenda Darice Quarles, 26, also faces two child endangerment counts.
