Bashed kittens burned alive

TWO people have been charged with animal cruelty after teenagers allegedly bashed and burned a cat and her nine kittens.

Their bodies were found in the backyard of a house in Maryborough, southeast Queensland, a week ago after being given to one of the youths just days beforehand.

RSPCA investigators said the cats had been bashed against a wall and then beaten with a lump of wood before being incinerated.

Some of the animals were believed to be still alive when set on fire, said chief inspector Michael Pecic.

"This is very disturbing brutality,'' he said.

"At this time of year we have huge problems because of the cat breeding season and people refusing to de-sex their cats.''

"However, senseless acts of violence such as this should not and will not be tolerated.''

An 18-year-old man and a 14-year-old boy have been summonsed to appear in the Maryborough Magistrates and Children's Court in April on animal cruelty charges.

I just wrote and they printed a letter to our newspaper.. - until people start facing serious consequences for animal cruelty cases..nothing is going to change. We just had a HUGE case and a year later..she got $100 fine and a years probation. UNREAL! That is what prompted my letter.

How can anyone do shit like this?? They must be mentally defective, there is no way anyone could do this unless they are some type of psychopath. And at 18 and 14, what kind of monsters are these turds going to be when they are a few years older? I will never understand why this is tolerated, even people who don't care about animals have to realize these f*cks are beyond redemption and will move on to humans next.
