Default Woman gives up convertible for lost dog

    PORK CHOP CAME HOME.

"We've got permanent smiles now, we're just ecstatic that he's home."

AFTER A TEARFUL WEEK... LATASHA ARMENDARIZ AND HER KIDS HAVE THEIR MISSING
    FAMILY MEMBER BACK.

LAST THURSDAY PORK CHOP.. A TWO YEAR OLD ENGLISH BULLDOG... DISAPPEARED FROM
    LATASHA'S FRONT YARD.

"It was hard. It was the worst feeling ever."

SHE IMMEDIATELY PUT OUT A 500 DOLLAR CASH REWARD... BUT HAD NO LUCK.

SO SHE SWITCHED GEARS... AND OFFERED UP ONE OF HER MOST PRIZED POSSESSIONS.

THIS CUSTOMIZED 19-96 FORD MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE.. SHE'S SPENT THOUSANDS OF
DOLLARS ON... AND JUST FINISHED PAYING OFF.

"I love my car, my mustang was my life's work.

BUT SHE WAS WILLING TO PART WAYS WITH IT.... BECAUSE IN HER EYES... PORKCHOP
    IS MORE IMPORTANT.

"I just want to instill the value in my children that family is the most
important thing beyond any material item."

WEDNESDAY NIGHT, LATASHA GOT A CALL FROM A MAN WHO SAID HE FOUND THE DOG NEAR
    HER HOUSE.

HE CAME OVER AND SURE ENOUGH... HE HAD PORK-CHOP

THE MAN DIDN'T EVEN TELL LATASHA HIS NAME... BUT SHE KEPT HER PROMISE.

"I saw Porkchop and here are the keys! I didn't even look back! He right right
inside to the kids, and we all jumped on him."

NOW CARLESS... LATASHA GETS RIDES FROM HER MOM, USES HER FATHER-IN-LAW'S TRUCK
WHEN SHE CAN... AND TAKES THE BUS...

    "With a smile, you know."

LATASHA SAYS SHE'LL GET ANOTHER MUSTANG EVENTUALLY, BUT TRADING HER DREAM CAR
FOR PORKCHOP WAS AN EASY DECISION.

"To have my family back again, priceless."

That's cool, but if it were me I would have given her the dog for free and told her to keep the car. I wouldnt' feel right taking someone's car doing something that any person should do for free out of the goodness of their heart. I also find it kind of odd that the dog was nowhere to be found with a five hundred dollar reward but after the car offer was put out this guy shows up with the dog and doesn't even want to give out his name. But that's just me.

Yeah, I don't really like this story. That guy should have taken a cash reward, or something. He only came forward because it was worth it to him.

My feelings exactly when I read it. Giving the dog back is the right thing to do, reward or not.

Well its nice that someone would part with something that valuable to get their beloved dog back. But you're all right that the man should have just taken the cash (or the satisfaction that he returned a much loved and missed dog.)

well I would have given back the pup without taking the car or expecting a reward, because it's the right thing to do, but atleast she got him back ......

There's probably some legal technicality that would keep the guy from keeping the car; the car is still in her name.. so, I think its bogus. Glad they got their pup back though; if that's not selfless, I dont know what is.

That's what i was thinking. maybe he stole the dog, then decided to return it when he found out he'd get a car.

One of my asshole neighbours did that to somebody, stole their puppy and then returned it for the reward. he stole it cuz he wanted a purebred but didn't wanna pay for it. When he saw the reward he decided he'd return it and steal another dog. The second time he got caught though cuz the family (and their poor crying 7 year old kid) went around door to door and when he opened the door they saw the dog. He managed to lie his way out of it, saying he just found it and was waiting to see if anyone was going to put up signs to claim it but it had a collar and he had a dog bowl and everything.

wtf?! he took the car?! WTF! those english bulldogs get stolen a lot i've noticed. i've given found dogs back w/o any reward; as a pet lover and owner I can feel their pain and would only hope and wish that someone would return my pet too regardless of what i can offer.

I think people here (GR) are a lot more decent and would have given the dog, if found, back for nothing.

I think I'd go mad if I lost my dog
