Locked Doors Keep Bush From Quick Exit

BEIJING, China -- There was a lighthearted moment during President George W. Bush's China trip when he tried to leave a news conference through locked doors.

After finishing a question-and-answer session with U.S. reporters, Bush walked away from the podium towards a set of large doors. But the doors wouldn't open.

After pulling on both sides of the door, the president stepped back, looked at the cameras and calmly said, "I was trying to escape. It didn't work."

He then turned and walked out the way he came in.

The press conference was held so that Bush could address with the U.S. press what was discussed in his meetings with Chinese President Hu Jintao.
