Mom Accused Of Driving Son To Kill Gang Rival, 13

(AP) LONG BEACH, Calif. A mother is being held by police for allegedly driving her son and six other minors to murder a boy, 13.

Police say Eva Daley, 30, of Long Beach drove her gang member son and the other youths to 14th Street Park knowing they planned to kill Jose Cano on June 26. Cano died at a local hospital from multiple stab wounds to the upper body.

Authorities arrested Daley and the seven juvenile suspects last week. Police are withholding the names of the minors.

Long Beach police officer Jackie Bezart says all had been charged in connection with the slaying by Friday. Daley faces murder charges.

How old could her son possibly be if she is only 30? Dear God, I hate to say our society is falling apart, but reading these stories just makes me wonder how much lower can we go.

The saddest part is that probably the only quality time this mother spends with her son is driving him to murder someone. Maybe if she took any interest or responsibility in being a parent in the first place, her son would have a better goal than being a killer gang member.
