Jien Pu says she started having labor pain early Thursday morning but didn't think they were contractions.
She called her husband, Feng Chen and he took her to the hospital.
Their baby couldn't wait for the ride.
On the way to the hospital, Pu gave birth in the back seat of the couples mini-van.
She says, "I did not hold my baby. The baby was on the car seat. It just was going out and I did not have a chance to grab him and I did not know what to do."
After stopping twice, and a ten minute talk on the phone with a 911 dispatcher, the couple stopped and waited for an ambulance to take them and their new born to the hospital.
Baby, Edward Chen, weighs 8lbs., 5 oz. and is doing fine.
