Illinois woman accused in hit and run death (hell hath no fury....)
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20061113/..._us/car_attack
PEORIA, Ill. - A jealous ex-wife was charged with murder Monday after running down her ex-husband with a car outside another woman's apartment, authorities said. Dennis McGlothlin, 26, died at a hospital Monday after undergoing brain surgery. He was injured three days earlier in a parking lot in Pekin.
Krystle McGlothlin, 25, was jailed on $2 million bail.
Investigators said she showed up at the apartment early Friday, yelling obscenities and screaming for her ex-husband to come outside. She then rammed him with a car, and he hit his head on the ground, witnesses told police.
Krystle McGlothlin fled but returned minutes later to take something from her ex-husband's pocket as he lay bleeding, authorities said. Police said she smelled of alcohol but declined to release her blood-alcohol content.
The couple divorced several years ago but still lived together for the sake of their two children, ages 7 and 8, according to Dennis McGlothlin's family.
A public defender had not yet been appointed to represent the ex-wife.

I hate the saying "hell hath no fury" saying since the number of men who murder their wives/girlfriends out of jealousy far outweighs women, but she does sound mad. lol
Poor kids, though.

What the hell???? They were still living together? Seems like they should have seperated completely and she would have had a better time getting over the divorce.
Anyway - if it were me, I'd wait for the girlfriend to come out too. hehehe.

I know a number of people who have this situation, some of whom haven't even bothered to tell the kids they're divorced. It's weird and I always wonder how the kids will react when the truth comes out, probably due to mom and/or dad finding a new partner.

what's the point of divorcing and living in the same house? It seems like it would be easier on the kids, but kids aren't stupid and they are much more resilient than we think...makes much more sense to me to make sure each parent is a part of the kids daily life and not live together. If the marriage was bad enough for divorce-things aren't going to change just because that marriage was disolved. The problem is still going to be there. Like BM said, when one finds a new partner, shit like this happens...

I was reading an article in some magazine...can't remember which...that was showing examples of all types of families. All different family dynamics...childless couples, gay couples with children, foster families...you get the idea. There was one story about a man and woman who have been divorced for quite some time and the mom lives in the finished basement. Has her own little house down there complete with kitchen and bathroom and everything. It was really, really bizarre. They were staying in the same house for the children's sake (who were by now in their teens)...but I was just shaking my head thinking...'uh, they will have to adjust at some point.' I couldn't get over the strangeness of it.
