Netherlands court bans bitchy mom from school
All I can say is.. HA HA!
Quote:
A woman in the Netherlands has been banned from any contact with her daughter's school or teachers after complaining too much, a court ruled Friday.
The woman, whose name was not released, "overloaded" the Borgh Elementary School in the northern city of Zuidhorn "with an incessant stream of questions, comments and complaints," a panel of judges at the Groningen District Court wrote in their judgment.
"For causing an illegal hindrance ... she will be barred from approaching the school or the school area for a year, and forbidden from addressing the school, educators or the board in any way other than as specified in the verdict," the judges said.
The woman's complaints ranged from treatment of her daughter _ described as "highly gifted" _ to disagreements about curriculum, method of teaching and the safety of the school.
In the 2004-2005 school year, the woman sent 50 e-mails and 20 letters to the school, and came nine times to visit.
She also wrote 29 letters to the school board and others "to the National Complaint Commission, the Labor Inspection Service, the Educational Inspection Service, the Queen's representative and the media," the judgment said.
In the future, the woman will be allowed to submit complaints to the school on a single page of paper once a month, the court ruled.

I can't blame the court for ruling this way. She's a nuisance.

Me too Lynnie!
All I know about Holland is what I saw on Eurotrip. And my (Swedish) dad, who tells me that my (Dutch) mom's family is cheap.

Hey cool!!
I don't know a whole lot about Holland either except there's Windmills and aquaducts and tulips and ice skating and stuff. Lots of people named Han, last names that begin w/Van blah blah. Most of family has been there to visit, but not me yet. Sniff. SOMEDAY!!
My fathers side is Dutch and they all speak fluent Dutch...but not me....
I actually have cousins that come and visit at least twice a year from Holland for a couple weeks at a time, so that has been cool. It's very interesting to see their reactions to certain things in the US, and the comparisons, etc.
It's great you saw some of the country...I'm sure it's beautiful!

I'd love to visit there for a real vacation...I call it Eurotrip because I was on a cruise and did not get to see too much, more like snippets of each port of call.
My aunt took me to Holland, Michigan for their Tulip Festival last year and somehow it just wasn't the same...

Some Dutch people have a reputation for being cheap, but not all. I've met both kinds during my travels.
