Ore. woman accused of shooting husband after he shot her pet chicken

CHESHIRE, Ore. -- A Cheshire woman has been accused of shooting her husband after he shot her pet chicken.
Mary Kay Gray, 58, was jailed on felony assault charges, The Eugene-Register Guard reported.
Her 43-year-old husband, Stanley Gray, is recovering from a gunshot wound to the shoulder.
The chicken died at the scene. no shit really?! a bullet vs. a bird ppl!
Lane County sheriff's Sergeant Clint Riley said the couple had been working around their yard and drinking on Labor Day and got into an argument after Stanley Gray shot his wife's pet chicken with a 44-caliber handgun. Police don't know if the shooting was intentional or an accident.
Riley said "it depends on who you ask."
Sheriff's deputies later determined that Gray shot her husband with a 22-caliber rifle in an apparent act of retaliation.

Actually, I think Ohio is currently pulling ahead in the nutty state competition although this story certainly does make Oregon a contender. As far as shooting the hubby for something stupid he did? Makes sense to me.

So true. My colleagues & I have worked with children whose sadistic evil fathers controlled them with their animals. You didn't clean the house to my satisfaction so I just ran over your dog. Go clean it up off the driveway now. And even worse, more horrible stories. People who kill animals like that are generally no loss.
