Cool Scott Peterson's House Brings New Owner Bad Luck

Scott Peterson's House Brings New Owner Bad Luck

(AP) MODESTO, Calif. The Modesto home of Scott and Laci Peterson is for sale, again. The current owner of the three-bedroom house says it has been nothing but bad luck for him since he bought it in 2005.

Gerry Roberts said he has been fired from three jobs since buying the 1949 home and can no longer afford the mortgage payments. He was asking $449,000 for it on Monday.

Roberts was the first person to own the home after the Petersons.

Scott Peterson was convicted in 2004 of killing his eight-months pregnant wife, Laci Peterson, and the fetus she carried.

Maybe Zelda Rubenstein, the little lady from Poltergeist (is she still alive?) can cleanse it for him.

First thing I thought.

In the Amityville horror, that Lutz guy killed his entire family.

oh yeah. I think he killed her in the house and probably kept her there overnight until he had a chance to put the body in the toolbox on his truck.

bad mojo in that house.

I recently met someone who lived a few doors down from that house totally by coincidence. I'm going to get in touch with them and see if they have any "inside" info.

Who, may I ask, on God's green Earth would have bought this house in the first place?? A WOMAN WAS MURDERED IN IT!! I wouldn't live there if the house was free.

The guy who killed his family was Ronald DeFeo. George Lutz bought the house afterward, but it wasn't haunted. He made that all up trying to cash in on the murders. The folks who bought the house from Lutz said the only thing they were ever bothered by was tourists forever knocking on the door wanting to come in and take pictures.

I don't think the guy was stupid for buying the house, just for not being able to hold a job! Wonder what his work history looks like before the purchase?
I do believe that houses can be haunted, but I wouldn't think Laci Peterson would be a mean ghost...if she was going to haunt anyone and be mean about it she would haunt his ass in prison and his crazy ass mom and dad...

I'd NEVER buy/live in a house where a killer lived, or where a murder took place. Reminds me of the Jonbenet Ramsey home. It was a beautiful place, but I wouldnt live in it for free.
