Chevron Buys 122 Gas Stations in California
(CBS) LOS ANGELES Chevron U.S.A. Inc. finalized a deal Friday to purchase 122 of USA Petroleum’s gas stations across California.
"After nearly 50 years, I believe it is appropriate to sell some of our retail gas station holdings, and I believe that the transition to Chevron also will be good for my customers and station employees," said John Moller, owner of Thousand Oaks-based USA Petroleum.
Northern California-based Chevron planned to operate the 122 gas stations under either the Chevron or Texaco brand.
There were 10,000 retail gasoline service stations in California at the time of the purchase, and roughly 1,500 of them were currently branded either Chevron or Texaco.
